Again, Yet Again
Will it ever stop? Will sanity ever rear its rational head? Are we destined to commit ourselves time and yet time again to self-destruction? Even a cursory review of world history reveals that the answers to those rhetorical questions are: No. No. Yes.With exceptions. Rationality is possible. Peace is attainable. I have a cousin who intones a mantra that starts with: "People of goodwill..." People of goodwill, you see, working together, understanding one another's needs will reach agreement, acceptance, peace among themselves. From past history, from the lessons of current history one can only reach the conclusion that "people of goodwill" are a scant minority, and a fairly ineffective one at that.
Instead, what have we? The jackals are gathering, the hyenas encircling, the forces of chaos and destruction are sounding their odious chorus of demands, agression, murderous intent. Exultation! Jubilation!
This is barbarous. Distinctly uncivilized. Hezbollah, encouraged and funded by Iran exists for the sole and dedicated purpose of the complete destabilization and ultimate destruction of the State of Israel. Hamas, sanctioned and supported by Syria states its purpose and goal and there is no room for conjecture: destruction of the State of Israel. Friends in arms.
They are the avenging angels of the Palestinian population. So they think. So they declare. So they attack. Is there any way on earth to disarm such attitudes, such devotion to death and destruction? The nursing of grievances, both real and imagined, coddles their curdled spirits and spurs them on to their avowed apprenticeship to the Angel of Death. And look! All for the greater glory of Allah. It is His Will they carry out.
These proud warriors of Islam. Clad in black or proudly sporting camoflage, head-banded in the colours of hate, and masked in sinister intent. Ammunition slung over shoulders and chests, hoisting aloft Kalishnakovs, and eager to discharge their deadly shot into the air, dreaming of killing Israelis, the more the better, the greater glory to Allah. They aren't entirely averse to the expedient of flaunting themselves in the civilian arena, as it isn't their fault, after all, if their murderous presence among innocents results in the unfortunate deaths of same.
How is it that so many psychopaths claim utter allegiance to a god of mercy and goodness? How is it that their genetic inheritance has left them so bereft of human intelligence, compassion and reason? Why is it that the one redeeming value of their lives is to attain the ultimate of martyrdom?
