Higher Order of Animal Life
According to primatologist Dr. Frans B. deWaal, humans and simians are very similar when it comes to their social order and emotional displays. Humans are capable of transmitting information in a way that apes cannot; we have successfully developed technologies far surpassing the elemental technology of an ape utilizing a stick to access tasty horde of ants.Emotionally, however, there are close parallels; bonobos, he tells us, relate to peace and equality. While chimpanzees are enthusiastically competitive, quick to take advantage.
Back to the Middle East. Where there are competitive, tribal, humanly-informed animals whose culture has led them to ape the chimpanzees, and eschew the bonobos. In the Palestinian Territories, Hamas is determined to wipe out any authority that Fatah has taken onto itself.
Wipe out, as in destroy, annihilate if need be, wipe the slate clean and start again with the PA purely Hamas-inspired and determined.
Fatah, realizing that Hamas is out for a complete rout, has planned a "coup" which will leave them at the roadside, bravely clings to its traditional base as spokesman/protector/governor of the Palestinian people.
Fatah and Hamas, determinedly forceful, faithful to their vision of their fateful destiny, have enthusiastically murdered one another, tossed one another from rooftops, executed each other point-blank, and killed each other in hospital beds.
In the name of Allah, in the name of the Palestinian people whose need is undeniable.
No one is safe. Children and women, and unarmed men are caught in the cross-fire, killed and wounded. The very people whom both claim to represent, whose best interests are always and ever uppermost in the minds of their defenders. The defenders, intent on obliterating one another from prominence and authority.
"They're firing at us, firing RPGs, firing mortars. We're not Jews", the brother of Jamal Abu Jediyan, a Fatah commander, pleaded during a live telephone conversation with a Palestinian radio station. And very soon afterward, both of these men were hauled out into the streets and their bodies riddled with bullets.
