The Smoking Gun
Tender souls - fearing to offend the Muslim community by default though expressing any sentiments that might implicate Muslims or Islam in 9/11 - launched into ceremonies of remembrance to speak sensitively and movingly of the dreadful loss that occurred that fateful morning. With no mention whatever of the perpetrators, no words sounding like "al- Qaeda", or "Osama bin Laden", or "Islamists" or "Muslim fanatics", or suicidal "Jihadists".It is as though the event occurred as a natural disaster; somehow three airliners suddenly decided to veer off course, to make of themselves deadly missiles carrying all onboard into a flaming inferno of massive proportions, reducing huge buildings to white-hot rubble. And suddenly, people inside those buildings that housed so many symbols of American prosperity and dominance conceived of a desire to emulate Icarus, sharing his unfortunate fate under a sunny sky turned dark with soot and debris.
And as the ceremonies proceeded movingly and with great empathy for the unbearable life-losses of too many families, another group of people entirely, representing Canadian and American doubters who also deigned not to mention "Muslim fanatics", "al-Qaeda", or "Terrorists" gathered in Toronto, at Ryerson University for a four-day doubters' convention.
"Experts" and academics who pride themselves on reason, will present their objections to the conventional belief that Muslim extremists, Wahaabists, Salafists, Islamists, fundamentalist psychopathic Muslims bearing violent jihad like a triumphant banner of conquest over the West had anything whatever to do with the flight of passenger jets aimed into the World Trade Towers.
A public policy professor at Florida State University speaks of 9/11 as a "state crime against democracy", that the destruction of the towers was deliberately planned and staged for the greater purpose of setting the stage to advance toward the acceptance by a mourning, outraged, and vengeful American public of the intent to launch wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
"What is more disconcerting in some ways is that this was not investigated. The evidence of controlled demolition is pretty close to a smoking gun", so said he. The truth has been suppressed, as a matter of state conspiracy to mount its own self-propelled disaster in the public sphere, carefully selecting its target to resonate with the sensibilities of the public.
What would represent the most protected, invulnerable, crucially vital targets to be sacrificed? Why, New York is America and America is New York, so look there, the financial heartland of the country and strike at the most visible, obvious symbol of capitalism. And the Pentagon, that too, no mere symbol but the very crucible of American military preeminence.
Ah, and the White House, the seat of government, that very government that holds the world in thrall to its imperious power. Bring them low, bring them down, shock the world, teach it that the most powerful in the world is still, after all, only a symbol of humankind's frail ego, and the audacious can surmount that ego.
This was not the reasoning of religious fanatics infused with a deep anger and hatred of the West's singular national strongman, but the American administration itself. Doesn't it make eminently good sense? After all, where does the greatest wealth lie, and the capability to build on that wealth, other than through waging war, and the brisk selling of armaments?
