Aiding Iran
Members of the world's 120 countries, part of the non-aligned movement, were invited to Tehran to attend one of its largest meetings ever. And while opening statements attacked the UN Security Council, Iran can proudly boast that the Secretary General of the United Nations will be present, in living colour, giving yet more prestige and credulity to the claims that Iran is grossly misunderstood."Electing Iran as leader of the Nonaligned Movement shows that a global resistance against America and the Zionists has taken shape",proudly announced Mohammad Reza Naghdi, commander of a paramilitary group. "America better give up, as this is yet another sign of its collapse."
To demonstrate just how misunderstood and put upon the Islamic Republic of Iran truly is, despite its well-earned reputation of a terrorist host and inspiration to terror, before entry to the conference, delegates were shown mangled vehicles which had been owned by some of its nuclear scientists who had been killed by bombs. Planted, needless to say, by its enemies.

Some of the delegates present took the opportunity, standing before those vehicles, to piously denounce terrorism. Tehran has the very same impressive ability to bring other countries to its defence as any other of the oil-producing states in the Middle East in the international forum of the UN. Client countries anxious to ensure their energy shipments remain secure are more than willing to shill on behalf of Iran.India, for example has its high-profile presence at the conference in the presence of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. India is hugely dependent on Iranian oil to keep its factories churning out goods. An immense help to Iran in defiance of the boycott/sanctions from Western countries of Iranian oil. India clearly does not subscribe to the urging that it rely instead on Gulf oil suppliers.
And India has arrived with a support delegation of no fewer than 250, prepared to talk increased trade with Iran. As for Egypt, a long-time adversary of Iran, all that has undergone a magical change with a new Egyptian administration with President Mohammed Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood prepared to advance an entirely new dialogue of understanding between the two countries.
The meeting was opened by Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, reminding those present of their commitment, and Iran's to remove the world's nuclear arsenals within 13 years. "We believe that the timetable for ultimate removal of nuclear weapons by 2025, which was proposed by NAM, will only be realized if we follow it up decisively." As Orwellian a statement as was ever pronounced.
The NAM delegates may be more than willing to suspend belief that by all indications Iran is itself deeply committed to succeeding in manufacturing its own fissile nuclear materials and perfecting the long- and short-range missiles to zip the nuclear warheads off to countries it plans to attack and destroy, while it rigorously denies any such intent. And then contradicts itself by threatening just that.
Iran has also announced its intention to conduct peace talks to put an end to Syria's civil war. It will represent Syria's Alawite regime, but it will not have an adversarial council to bargain with, since the rebels, Sunnis, are well aware of Shi'ite Tehran's commitment to President Bashar al-Assad, and have no intention of taking part in the 'peace' talks.
"Two-thirds of the world's nations are here in Tehran", Iran's ambassador to the United Nations, Mohammad Khazaee, said jubilantly. "Clearly this conference will be effective for us."
Clearly it will be.
