The holy month of Ramadan appears to have been given new purpose by Islamists and by Palestinians using it as an impetus to influence the suggestible that this is the right time to commit violence and take up the challenge of jihad on one hand, and the terror campaign of hate-filled Palestinian Arabs committing murder against Jews and the State of Israel, on the other.
Threats of a new intifada, of attacks orchestrated by Fatah, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Hamas members -- along with lone-wolf martyrdom-obsessed men, women and teens responding to PA President Mahmoud Abbas' injunction last year to Palestinians in the West Bank not to allow filthy Jewish feet to besmirch the hallowed Islamic plaza built atop the ancient Judaic Temple Mount. Infusing Palestinians with the zeal to use any weapons at hand to hunt down and kill Jews.
The Palestinian Authority exudes a message of peace and tolerance when faced toward the global community and speaking their universal language of good will in English. And speaking Arabic with a totally opposite message of violence and martyrdom to the audience within Gaza and the West Bank and further afield beyond the Middle East to the diaspora.
This new wave of deadly assaults against Jews, from the casual everyday stabbings, to vehicular homicide, and gun killings has arisen amidst greater efforts at infiltration from West Bank towns into Israel with random attacks leaving higher body counts and more Jews wounded and hospitalized in a fury of psychopathic malice. Where wave following wave of surprise terrorist attacks freezes Israelis' -- Jews and non-Jewish citizens alike -- sense of normalcy.
"All of a sudden, we heard shots and screaming. The police told us to stay far from the windows and lock the door. It's insane -- I walk on that street [Dizengoff in Tel Aviv] every day", recounted 30-year-old Israeli consultant Uriel Dison, describing his shock and pain of the results of a Palestinian attacker opening fire through the glass windows of a fashionable cafe, aiming to kill and succeeding.
Three young men shot to death, almost a dozen injured, some gravely, in the fourth terrorist assault in Israel within the space of two weeks. Hundreds of young Israelis were enjoying a Thursday night out in bars and cafes. CCTV footage focusing on Ilka, the bar that became the target of the Jenin-based terrorist, showed crowds panicking and stampeding for exits. As soon as deaths and injuries were satisfactorily registered by the attacker, he fled.
Soon a thousand Israeli troops and special forces began going door-to-door in the Dizengoff neighbourhood to search houses and flats, eventually confronting the attacker in the Jaffa district. There he was 'neutralized' in a shootout. A freshly traumatized public in Israel, now once again alert and fearful, but getting on with their lives. Since this is the cadence of their lives; living beside a population in which a brooding mass of psychopaths aspire to kill Jews.
