Tails You Lose, Heads We Win
Really, this is frustratingly tiresome, tedious, insane and totally anticipated.Like all terrorists, Hezbollah and its leader Sheik Nasrallah feel they are invincible. Unconquerable. Their zeal in pursuing their goal to extinguish Israel from the map of the Middle East is unabated, their passion to press for a continuance of their goal to reach an unequivocal conclusion has been yet again ignited by their recent VICTORY. Patience, the real outcome is yet to be produced. Death's lovers consult and plan for the future.
Jihadists, unite! Whether you are Sunni or Shia, and hate one another unto death, more than willing to deliver final death blows to one another and your respective family lines, it is time to unite. For the unvanquishable enemy has seen defeat. What's more a stinging, sound and undoubted defeat at the hands of an adversary far fewer in numbers than their own. Is that not what the Arab street believes? Have they not been fed a steady diet of this apprehension through television addresses and follow-up in the theatre of war?
Reality may not quite reflect this perception, but perception equals belief equals reality. That being said, there are international experts in warfare who might have reached the conclusion that the truly unfortunate war in Lebanon fought by the Israeli Defence Forces against the irregular army of Islamofascism reached no identifiably-concrete result that would bring favour to either side; rather it has ended, precipitately, in a draw.
Neither "side" in the contest has brought glory on itself, nor to the principles and goals they fought to uphold. The Israeli IDF fought a conventional war in a conventional way against an unconventional army fighting not only unconventionally but with a morally indefensible strategy of hiding itself and its weapons among defenceless civilian populations, and by cleverly bunkering down in underground tunnels were assured safety, another strategy designed to safeguard its death-dealing members, but denied its civilian hostages. Where is Sheik Nasrallah? Untouchable, cossetted in safety within the Iranian embassy in Bereit, guarded by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, and clad in silky Iranian robes, celebrated and hailed as the Muslim messiah.
The better to then thwack Israel with an outraged public opinion accusing the State in its determination to rout, apprehend or kill those attacking its own civilian population of heedlessly killing Lebanese civilians. Beastly Israel deliberately precision-bombing innocents, wreaking havoc within the civilian infrastructure of the country for no discernible reason whatever. While saving their own murderous skins, jihadists gladly sacrifice the lives of those who depend upon them for support and safety in a war situation which Hezbollah itself designed.
Of course, because Hezbollah has the full support of the population within which it ensconces itself the blame for the conflict falls directly upon Israel, which, while striking back, is unable to distinguish the enemy from the surrounding population, another cleverly-engineered construct of Hezbollah. Naively, Israel felt that because it did not start the war, did not wish to prosecute yet another war, that Lebanon's population would identify Hezbollah's actions as the provocation it was, and blame them. It was not to be.
Remarkable, how Hezbollah wins all the battles, that of public opinion within Lebanon, in the outside world at large, at the United Nations, and as they see it, on the battlefield. Now that a ceasefire is in effect, Sheik Nasrallah, the newly-beloved of the Arab world, of Muslims everywhere, as a liberator, an honoured fighter-against-the-West, declares Victory over the hated Zionist entity. He even savours the glory of respectful interviews on American television. He has truly arrived.
Israel has acceded to the United Nation's demand to cease and desist and is prepared to withdraw all of its troops back beyond their border once the anticipated and promised UN troops and Lebanese troops are brought into the area. Meanwhile, a jubilant, triumphant Hezbollah, agent of death to Jews wherever they are (and eventually conquerer of the world) retains its weaponry, and even better, has the opportunity to regroup, re-arm under the pleased auspices of Syria and Iran.
Israeli forces go back home, to assist their country in the clean-up of the devastation left in the wake of Hezbollah's relentless rocket attacks. And Lebanon? Lebanon is bankrupt, economically, morally and sovereign-wise. She is now once again ripe for Syria to march back in to bleed her dry of any resources left untouched.
Stage One of Final Solution? Mission accomplished.
