Code: Critical

So Britain's MI5 database and a Home office watch list had already identified the potential of problems from a few of those involved in the failed bombing in London and Glasgow; they weren't entirely ignorant of the presence of these radicalized medical professionals, just not convinced they posed a real threat. Surprise, surprise.

But when there's an estimated two thousand individuals whom security services have isolated as suspected jihadists or supporters of terrorism, how to proceed? For one thing, it takes so many dedicated police officers to track the whereabouts and activities of each single suspect there could not possibly be a programme that would effectively watch all of this number.

So those whose activities and assumed dedication to the cause appear to be most urgent are those whom the secret services tend to track. And the others, merely suspected of being sympathizers and hangers-on are free to carry on with their stealthy purpose to wreak fear and destruction on the populace of a country where they have been welcomed as trusted members of society.

Government authorities at the very highest level of British responsibility to its populace are not without blame. In their zeal to be seen to be doing the 'right thing', to unreservedly accept the presence of those whose agenda they little understand, and trusting that their kindness would be returned through allegiance, they went out of their way to prove how 'understanding' they were of the needs of the strangers in their midst.

By assisting in so many ways; encouraging the British public to become a huge welcome committee; setting up state-funded Islamic school; permitting Arabic-speaking mullahs and imams from abroad entry and the right to remain in Britain, the better to preach hate-filled propaganda against the West, against Jews, non-believers, Christians, and to urge their congregation to be true to Islam by self-radicalization, by buying into the need to Islamicize the country.

So welcoming have they been that it was considered business as usual in this constitutional monarchy, a light unto the nations of liberal democracy, to grandly introduce a known Islamist into the knighthood, and yet another who publicly espoused great admiration for Ayatollah Khomeini and his Islamist agenda, to the British House of Lords.

The physicians' code of "do no harm" disarms any suspicions that people in general, and law and order authorities in particular may have, despite warnings to the contrary, for we are, after all, but human. And despite that a canon of the Anglican church having reported a conversation he had with an al Qaeda leader on attending a religious conciliation meeting in Jordan, who would believe it?

Only several months previous to these attacks, al Qaeda elements were feeling sufficiently self-assured to spread the word of imminent attacks on British and American targets: "those who cure you will kill you". What? Exactly what...? Explicate, kindly explain. If you require an explanation you're clearly not on the same track. And clearly, the West hasn't been.

Another ill-executed plot of deadly intent foiled. Britain carries on, as is her wont. There has been no panic in the streets.
