These Simple Facts

There's much truth to the observations of some acutely aware individuals that we as a society in the West are full of self-loathing. Our sense of collective guilt over the political, military and social machinations of the past appears to be weighing our conscience to an extent that we simply cannot live with ourselves. Making us ready to hand over to those who are more than happy to accept our miserable grovellings in mea culpas our enlightened societies seen by us as blighted by our past.

Those societies who have failed to evolve into conscionable, enlightened societies with regard for human dignity and human rights, and who decry the West's degraded values of open-mindedness, and freedoms denied by strictured autocratic theocracies whose fundamentalist values are so in conflict with our own, take the advantage where they see it. And so it is that we see a non-conflicted alliance between the new left and radical Islam.

To the new left the apotheosis of human attainment is the subjugation of the social-political ego to the demands of a radical entitlement-by-historical-wrong of an ever-growing chorus of tyranny-led states chiming their time has come. The new left is perfectly satisfied to surrender all the advantages of liberal democracy and freedoms of thought and association to the past victims of imperialist advantage.

They are more than prepared to sacrifice themselves and all that their societies represent to the bellowing pain they perceive emanating from those who proclaim themselves victims finally entitled to overcome their social and political and historical shortcomings by a violent jihad ascribed to Islam's imperative to ascend in reach and power, to end their disadvantage and post their final victory.

The new left may be secular in outlook, but they achieve a divine ecstasy of being in sacrificing their own entitled position as an emotionally angst-ridden political elite, and offering up that same sacrifice on behalf of everyone else sharing their national landscapes, deeming it just and proper, because they say it is. In this topsy-turvy world they inhabit the vicious and the violent are entitled. The sane and the logical are the aggressors.

Nowhere are the symptoms of this pathology more evident than in the symbolism in which Israel is held, as the most recent manifestation of racist imperialism on the landscape of the Western-disentitled world of the Middle East. If we in North America feel that our leftists have lost all reason in their discourse and alignment with Islamist entitlements, and Jew-baiting, they're are simply emulating their more rabid European cousins.

Irrespective of the crimes against humanity being perpetrated on a daily basis by Islamists - the raving lunacy of the hatred expressed by mutually-detesting sectarian violence, the victims of suicide bombings, the feverishly-promised extinction of a democratic state within a hotbed of racist demagogic theocrats, dictators, tyrants and kingships - these are forgivable and explicable misunderstandings.

Representing a way of life that Western minds simply cannot fathom, because of the density of our vision and the unwillingness of our generosity of spirit. The values that we cannot accept as just are just regardless because of a long tradition and heritage that gives them legitimacy. We are simply too stupid to recognize these simple facts.
