Jyllands-Posten's Barbed-Wire Hope
Well, goodness gracious! A barbed wire fence installed in an attempt to fend off terrorist attacks. Yes, those horrible incidents of attacks by enraged Islamist fundamentalists foaming at the mouth, incoherently denouncing the decadent West, and most particularly those in the West who assault the sensibilities of the faithful of Islam. The prospect of such blood-thirsty attacks are decidedly not pleasant.Who wouldn't go out of their way to avoid such unpropitious events?
Not many, in fact. So imagine living in Israel, at a time when Palestinian terror groups of one nomenclature or another would launch their deadly attacks within the city centres; at bus stops, on crowded buses, in restaurants and markets, just about anywhere that people congregate and least expect that their lives will be turned from normal to deadly in one fell swoop of a suicide vest being triggered.
By young men for the most part, but not necessarily exclusively, since older women with children and young women as well, along with the mentally regarded - quite apart from the delusional fanaticism that retards most peoples' thinking apparatus - are enjoined to sacrifice themselves willingly for the grater good of Islam and in the doing condemn innocent civilians - albeit Jews - to death.
There are no opportunities to plead reason with individuals whose moral compass has slid so precipitously off point, convinced that Jews represent their mortal enemies and that their lives must be extinguished to please Allah. Covert operations carefully planned and executed time over time successfully diminished the Jewish population of Israeli towns and cities until the government decided to build a protective wall.
The international community that tched-tched over the calamities that kept afflicting Israel through the misfortune of 'impressionable youth' willingly sacrificing their life on Earth for virginal attendants in Paradise, suddenly became far less solicitous over the fate of Israeli Jews and embraced the hot passion of condemnation over a wall separating Jews from Arabs. It was inhumane, a symptom of an apartheid regime.
Is there any kind of outcry now that Denmark's Jyllands-Posten has decided to protect its workers from terrorist attacks by erecting a barbed-wire fence around its offices? A 2.5-metre high, one kilometre long fence around the daily's headquarters in Visby. The newspaper did not, actually think this up on their own; it was recommended to them by the Danish security and intelligence service.
Muslims incinerated the world by their incendiary fury over a handful of cartoons that fairly well portrayed their version of fanatical Islamist activities.
