Ah, Amour!
Now that's a very unsavoury story of lack of dedication to one's responsibilities.A case lesson in authority succumbing to seduction. That's the way of the flesh. What can you do? Women can tear a man's heart out, yearning for her favours. And men, they are simply no match for the seductive capabilities of a woman determined to undermine a man's courageous resistance. Little wonder women are thought of in some religious circles as spawn of the devil.
In fact, this one most certainly, on the record of her achievements and pride of purpose, would qualify as devil's spawn. Emma, (formerly known as Yalda) Arbabzadeh was involved with a French group, the Gang of Barbarians. And they most certainly were that way inclined. As was she, their exotic decoy. Who went out of her way to lure a young Jewish man to an area where he was seized by the Barbarians.
As Barbarians they did to Ilan Halimi, a young French Jew, what was natural to their brutish inclinations. He was kept in a cellar and over three weeks was tortured, stabbed, burned and starved. The idea was that the young men who held him hostage, immigrants from Algeria living in one of France's squalid banlieues, felt that as a Jew, his family could afford a large ransom.
Alas, they could not, but had they been able to pay the requested ransom it is doubtful there would have been much left of their beloved son to retrieve from his tormented captivity. He was ultimately found handcuffed and naked, tied to a tree near a railway bed outside Paris.
He was in a state of starvation and deprivation, wounded and dying and he did not survive the ambulance trip to hospital.
Blithe young Emma Arbabzadeh was convicted and sentenced to 9 years in prison; the gang leader, Youssouf Fofana convicted to a maximum life sentence, eligible for parole in 22 years; lesser gang members had sentences ranging from three to fifteen years.
Emma, 21, continues to pursue her career in turning men's heads; being confined to prison is no deterrent for her. The director of the prison in which she is ensconced, along with a guard, has been relieved of official duties.
Other female inmates, aggrieved at the preferential treatment she received, complained. And it was then discovered that the prison director, Florent Goncalves, 41, admitted to having enjoyed sexual relations with Emma Arbabzadeh in exchange for favours.
Conscience? What is that in the face of womanly wiles? "She made [the two men] lose their senses", said an investigator, informing the newspaper Le Parisien.
Poor put-upon fellows.
