Religions of Peaceful Tolerance

First they came for the Jews, and nobody much cared, actually. But having set the stage for acceptance attention turned elsewhere. It's a logical form of order; out of Judaism came Christianity, so if Judaism fails and falls under the deadly hammer of extinction through an almost-successful course of human elimination, theocratic belief to follow, then why not its more powerful successor, leaving the way clear for the third creation, monotheism's third time around more engaged in the persuasion of new recruits than its predecessors which were merely practise runs, after all.

Gentle persuasion has not worked. Judaism was never truly engaged in passionately zealous mission work. It was content to keep to itself, to solace and inform its own, not to spread the good news but to revel in it, practise it, and in so doing present as a symbol, a possible light unto the world. Christianity was far more emphatic about its beliefs and its belief in ministering to the needs of the heathen and providing them with an entrance to the divine world of the hereafter.

Theirs was an evangelizing mission of high priority. The passions that led to fierce fundamental beliefs also enabled them to give sacrifice to God of those who preferred to spurn him in his later incarnation in a Trinity. Islam, however, is the final, more accurate version reflecting God's true purpose, strength and commitment to humankind. But utter and complete surrender of the faithful must be accomplished as the primary induction into the faith.

Deviations punished by mortal surrender of the soul succeeding that of the body. Islam permits of no uncertainty, no other paths to divine belief, and those who attest to the primacy of a sect recognized as those of heretics have forfeited their right to life. There is no 'equivalent' path to Allah, there is only the absolute one of the majority and the majority rules to the extent that slaughter of those who pretend piety is a deserved end.

But for one small national-enclave, the Middle East is judenrein. And this is precisely what is occurring with the cradle of Christianity as well. Up until a prophet gave news of a new religion 1,400 years ago, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and most of the geography but for the presence of those Jews not dispersed throughout the diaspora, was comprised of Christians. That Christian presence is fast fading.

They have been spat upon, demeaned, attacked, massacred. They have seen their property destroyed; churches pillaged, women raped, men and children killed. Refusing the alternative of conversion to Islam and sharia, atrocities follow naturally. Why should Christians think themselves immune from this kind of natural justice against unbelievers when Shia and Sunni Muslims rampage against one another in deadly fits of rage?

The Middle East that once accepted the presence of Jews, Christians and Muslims living in some semblance of harmony has dissolved. In its place is one of murderous intolerance, where the minority must flee if life is precious to them.

And Muslims of the lesser sects, the Ismailis, the Ahmadiyya, no less faithful to Islam and its precepts are able to find haven elsewhere, among majority Christians in Europe and North America.
