Precisely, My Good Man
"It is directly related to our credibility and whether countries still believe the United States when it says something. They are watching to see if Syria can get away with it because then maybe they, too can put the world at greater risk."Blood and hair samples from the August 21 attack in al Ghouta, Damascus taken from victims of the chemical strike in which 1,429 people (426 children) died, render conclusive proof that sarin, a globally banned chemical weapon, was used. This statement following directly a day after President Obama who accuses the Syrian regime of conducting chemical warfare on his own citizens, decided to call off a planned 'disciplinary' assault on Syrian military sites.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry
In favour of obtaining the approval of Congress, unwilling to shoulder the full and sole responsibility for proceeding as stated with "no boots on the ground".
"Samples of hair and blood have been tested and they have reported positive for signatures of sarin. Each day that goes by, this case is even stronger. We know that the regime ordered this attack ... We know where the rockets came from. We know where they landed. We know the damage that was done afterwards", said Mr. Kerry, fully immersed in his sense of personal outrage. But, one must ask, did he convey his outrage and the data recently claimed, to his superior?
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, said Mr. Kerry "has now joined the list of Adolf Hitler and Saddam Hussein" in his use of chemical weapons, just as they did as well, against their own civilian populations. As though that would distress Mr. Assad. Who likely, like many others in the region, haw great admiration for those two great men of history who accomplished so much before their exploits were brought to a thudding halt.

President Obama, fully apprise, needless to say, plans to meet congressional leaders at the White House on Monday, to ensure that they are fully in command of the understanding of the vital importance in ensuring that Assad pay for his "incredible abuse of power." In the meantime, one must muse whether or not President Obama is aware or whether he is oblivious to the state of disbelief he has evoked in the minds of those who appear to have misunderstood his intention in moving a fifth destroyer to the Mediterranean, and his statements of imminent 'punishment' for Assad.
In preparation for which it has been rumoured that the Syrian President has been comfortably installed within an impermeable, but luxury bunker, and that his pleasantly compassionate wife and their children have been whisked off for safety and security well beyond the borders of their country. Military sites have been somehow secured, chemical agents stored somewhere else, and the population has responded by taping their windows to keep them from from shattering inward and messing up their drawing rooms.
The ultimate formula for convincing the Middle East that one's adversary is cowardly and incapable represents any attempt to be reasonable, to debate rather than attack, to attempt to deter the shedding of blood rather than rush headlong into battle. It is also part of the Arab/Muslim formula in facing off against an adversary to blow long and hard before striking, to engage in provocative rhetoric defaming the opposition, scorning and belittling him before hitting hard, mercilessly, with finality.
Should the adversary take the advantage and strike first and successfully, exacting his own deadly force and body count, then it is viewed as symbolic of success and prowess in battle, eliciting respect and future caution. Clearly respect would be utterly lost if it were wasted on an adversary that attempts first to engage in a request for reassessment, attempts to persuade a belligerent to think twice, to consider a climb-down to peace rather than conflict.
In the face of which, President Barack Obama who is obviously not prepared to think war before peace nor disengage from efforts to promote peace over war, and whose open hand of friendship has been rejected by the foremost arbiter of war now engaged in perfecting the delivery of the most fearful and destructive type of weapon of mass destruction, will not surrender to war unless forced. While speaking of a punitive strike, a "limited and narrow" action, he still urges caution.
But what need has the Syrian government to speak reasonably with the United States which propounds "flagrant lies" about its use of chemical weapons? The U.S. intelligence assessment citing "high confidence" in the Syrian government's responsibility for yet another vile attack is an insult to the honesty, integrity and honourable intentions of Bashar al-Assad.
Those 3,600 patients "displaying symptoms consistent with nerve agent exposure", a deliberate figment of Obama's dark imagination. Despite that Mr. Kerry spoke of "a senior regime official who knew about the attack confirmed that chemical weapons were used by the regime, reviewed the impact and actually was afraid they would be discovered. We know this", he emphasized.
Nonsense; the Syrian government denies it.
