Colouring The Propaganda
"The presidential plane and the Malaysian Boeing crossed paths at the exact point and at the same flight level. The shape of the plane and the length are absolutely similar, and their colour would appear almost identical at such a distance."
Yekaterina Andreyeva, Russian TV anchor
"The fact that the plane fell is an American provocation. They always do everything possible to blame Russia. It's possible that there were corpses that were placed ahead of time in the seats of the plane."
Russian member of Parliament Vladimir Zhirinovsky
"This tragedy would not have happened if there were peace on this land, if the military actions had not been renewed in southeast Ukraine. And, certainly, the state over whose territory this occurred bears responsibility for this awful tragedy."
Russian President Vladimir Putin
The specific area of the state over whose territory Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777, Flight 17 was shot out of the sky, is currently in the viciously violent hands of ethnic-Russians living in Ukraine who have fought running battles with the Ukrainian military over their plans to have Russia annex the Donetsk region. An Associated Press journalist had witnessed a Buk launcher in rebel-held territory, the very territory Mr. Putin spoke of, near the crash site before the plane was brought down.
Rossiya TV, a media tool of the Russian Federation, claims the rebels don't have possession of a Buk launcher, even though days earlier it had been a subject of great celebration that such a launcher was indeed in their possession. The Russian intelligence agent who now leads the 'Donetsk Peoples' Republic' boasted of having such a missile launcher.
But of course it was a Ukrainian Buk launcher that had in reality shot down the Malaysian passenger jet. Rossiya explained that the red, white and blue of the Malaysia Airlines logo "resembles the Russian tricolour"; obviously leading to a dastardly attempt by the Ukrainian military to blow up a Russian passenger jet, gone horribly wrong, and Ukraine must now pay the price in notoriety and isolation from Western Europe which must condemn Ukraine.

Russia's tabloid Komsomolskaya Pravda claimed Ukrainian air controllers directed the Malaysia Airlines plane's flight directly over the conflict zone where, with the help of the United States, a Ukrainian military plane shot it down. "A Ukrainian attack plane and an American spy satellite were following the fallen Boeing", claimed their report.
It was a devious orchestration by Ukrainian authorities to have the atrocity appear as though it was a rebel attack to provide a catalyst to lure western powers into military intervention on behalf of embattled Ukraine, to extract it from the quagmire it had itself launched itself into, by attacking peacefully innocent pro-Russian demonstrators who simply exercised their right to autonomy.
Although monitors from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe were permitted a superficial inspection of the crash site on Saturday until warning shots were fired when two Ukrainian members of the group briefly stopped to study some wreckage, Russian news reports laud the rebels for their cooperation with the observers, slamming Kyiv for stalling the arrival of international investigators.
