Perspective the Order of the Day

"Notably, Muslims make up approximately 3 percent of the Canadian population, while Jews make up just 1 percent, but both receive vastly disproportionate amounts of abuse."
"These numbers are a reminder that while anti-Semitism is thankfully far rarer in North America than places like Europe and the Middle East, it is far from dormant. Despite comprising only tiny percentages of their local population, Jews are consistently a top target for hate crimes. The situation is nowhere near as dire as somewhere like France—where Jews were the victims of 51 percent of racist attacks in 2014, many of them violent, despite representing less than 1 percent of the population. But it undoubtedly demands constant vigilance to ensure that this remains the case."

"Either way, we can't win sometimes. Every time things like this happen [Toronto's Danforth Avenue deadly Muslim terrorist attack], the Muslim community has to go into damage control to somehow defend itself from people who wish to lump everyone into the same category."
Leila Nasr, spokeswoman, National Council of Canadian Muslims

Figures from 2011 give the total Muslim population in Canada at 1,054,000. Presumably, that number has increased substantially in the last seven years. The National Council of Canadian Muslims, in the wake of the murderous terrorist attack on July 22 on Toronto's Danforth Avenue, injuring 13 innocent people and the killing of ten-year-old Julianna Kozis and 18-year-old aspirational nursing student Reese Fallon by 29-year-old Faisal Hussain, has complained of a spike in anti-Islamist hate incidents.

Typical of the Muslim community to turn public attention for sympathy to themselves as victims whenever a Muslim jihadist victimizes non-Muslim populations. They portray themselves as unfairly targeted for public social abuse simply because of their Islamic faith. That it is Islam that incites its faithful to violence against non-Muslims, causing lethal incidents to occur the world over, is simply incidental and has nothing to do with the religion of peace, Islam.

The religion of peace also motivates Muslims to act on their cultural bias against Jews. To defame and slander Jews and the State of Israel, to launch public campaigns inviting those who can find it reasonable to blame Jews for all the ills of the world, and give their support to the "Palestinian cause" against the oppression of the 'occupying' Zionist state which does its utmost to protect its citizens from Palestinian terrorism has brought anti-Semitism to a new high in Canada through BDS campaigns.

So, while attacking Jewish students at Canadian universities for their links to Judaism and the state of Israel, inciting slanderous lies, rewriting history, boycotting Israeli academics, portraying themselves as victims of Jewish conspiracies, Muslims in Canada have succeeded in enriching anti-Semitism in Canada against the 385,000 Jewish population presence, one-third the size of the Muslim population.
POLICE-REPORTED HATE CRIMES
In 2015, Statistics Canada noted 178 attacks against Jews, rising to 221 incidents in 2016. By comparison, Statistics Canada figures point to 159 attacks in 2015 against Muslims, reduced to 139 attacks in 2016. Bearing in mind this is a much larger population, suffering fewer hate incidents. And while the Jewish community is not known for breeding terrorist attacks against anyone, the Muslim community has been responsible for terrorist attacks globally, with Canada getting its own share.

Yes, there have been some isolated incidents where Muslim men and women have been accosted, hatred spewed at them and the perpetrators identified, arrested and charged. From the experience of men facing off against Muslim men with poisonous charges of being in the country when they should consider returning to 'where they came from', even if they were born in Canada. And Muslim women having their head scarfs snatched off.

Following the Parliament Hill shooting n 2014 there were four anti-Muslim hate incidents reported.
Toronto police spokesman Mark Pugash noted that according to the information available to him, there has been no spike in hate crimes in the city, the latest Islamist attack in Greektown where two were killed, 13 injured, notwithstanding.
