"The 14-point text is unambiguous on the point the White House is most eager to fog. It commits the United States, "with regional partners," to develop a "plan with at least USD 300 billion for the reconstruction and economic development of the Islamic Republic of Iran" -- $3 billion of which has, according to the unsurpassed journalist, Lee Smith, already been sent to Iran through by way of the United Arab Emirates. The president has called reports of that figure "fake news" and insisted nobody is putting up "ten cents." The clause nevertheless sits prominently in the document he signed."

Interesting how Canada-Israel relations have plunged into an icy bath in the past decade coinciding with Liberal governments lauding their 'progressive', DEI, Critical Race Theory values, and managing to impose them as credit-worthy virtues to abide by. In their playbook terrorists are 'militants', or 'gunmen' and a small nation that displays its sovereign right of response against existential threats represents an oppressive regime over-reacting to mere hyperbolic threats of violence however expressed in lavish bloodbaths.

 

Canada's previous and its current prime ministers take pride in their declared solidarity with the world's foremost victims whose claims to the historic patrimony of another people's ancestral land strikes a sympathetic chord with a government that hasn't hesitated to disown its own history while bemoaning itself as colonialist imperialists guilty of 'genocide' of Canada's aboriginals. The warm friendship and trust between Canada and the State of Israel exemplified most cordially by the preceding Conservative-led government is no more.

 

Canada's current prime minister, Mark Carney, finds much in common with the Palestinian Authority's autocratic, corrupt President Mahmoud Abbas, with the financially influential Emir of Qatar as exemplars of democracy, while giving a cold shoulder to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of the sole democracy in the Middle East, a Jewish state that governs a diverse religious, ethnic, cultural population seen nowhere else in the geography. Mr. Carney maintains cordial relationships with all but Mr. Netanyahu.

 

In Mr. Carney's opinion, Israel is guilty of any number of offences, primary among them its military responses to violent mass atrocities committed against Jews, much less ongoing threats of annihilation by the Islamic Republic of Iran, whose proxy militias, trained, funded and armed by the al-Quds branch of the Islamic Republican Guard Corps attack Israel from the south, from the north through Hamas and Hezbollah, goading Israel to invade Gaza and Lebanon in defensive reaction to never-ending attacks. 

 

Montreal4Palestine says the effigies displayed during the demonstration were directed at political figures, Benjamin Netanyahu, Itamar Ben-Gvir and Donald Trump. Montreal police’s hate crimes unit is investigating the incident.

 

None of which gave Canada's prime minister pause in declaring support for Palestinian statehood, and issuing statements of condemnation against Israel for its military pursuit of terrorists in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as those in Lebanon. Praising Arab leadership for their peace overtures, imagined tolerance and democratic values, all absent but for a scant few Middle East countries, while slurring Israel for its presumed lack of those virtues seems to satisfy something deep within Mr. Carney's subconscious.

 

It looks suspiciously akin to antisemitism. Denouncing Israel for "illegal invasion" of Lebanon, with no nuanced acknowledgement that the government of Lebanon has failed to exert its sovereignty and responsibility to its population that suffers a malignant terror group in Hezbollah to place the country in a vulnerable position by constant rocket fire into northern Israel. Iran's regime, sworn to Israel's destruction, has traditionally occupied Lebanon through Hezbollah, yet no acknowledgement of that simple reality in understanding Israel's dilemma is forthcoming.

 

When Mr. Carney finally directly addressed the inflamed persecution of Canadian Jews by organized foreign interests which has seen years of 'pro-Palestinian' and 'anti-Israel' processions throughout Canadian streets, condemning Israel for 'genocide' against Palestinians, while threatening Jews in Canada with 'Final Solution', 'Globalize the Intifada', and 'From the river to the sea', codes well known to represent incitement to violence, he spoke of rabid antisemitism as an unforgivable social pathology.

 

One which he had every intention, finally of addressing, after appearing to nonchalantly fail to 'notice' the ubiquitous presence of Jew-hate emanating from a flood of new immigrants, refugees and migrants whose cultural traditions of that malady were carried with them into Canada to augment already-existing, but quiescent suspicion of Jews to bring the pathology to a crescendo of orchestrated taunts, threats and violence including vandalism, gunshots and incendiary devices thrown at synagogues, Jewish schools and private Jewish-owned businesses.

His grand solution, announced at a Toronto synagogue where he spoke comfortingly and comfortably about his intentions to finally put an end to the disorder, with the assignment of an advisory committee to study the issue of rampant antisemitism in Canada, was to appoint none other than Muslim and Arab known Jew-haters to the task of solving the problem that they themselves are responsible for. 

 

In the end, it is interesting how two governments, one the United States of America, the other Canada, neighbours in North America, have a president and a prime minister thought to be quite unalike one another in temperament, character and values. Yet there is more to meet the eye than a cursory review of the behaviour of each, and in the end, summing up their stated positions, their concerns and their democratic declarations, along with the outcomes of their intentions, it becomes clear they have much in common.

If there were any doubts over charges by Israeli intelligence that many UNRWA staff were members of Hamas, and that some of those members were present in southern Israel on 7 October 2023 when Hamas lead thousands of Palestinian terrorists on a deadly rampage through Israeli farming communities, towns and villages, and at a Nova Music Festival where thousands of music-loving young Israelis had gathered, and were subjected to mass rape, mutilation, murder and hostage-taking, that doubt was dispelled when UNRWA, given inescapable evidence, admitted that some of its hires were terrorists aligned with Hamas.

 

And then just a week ago the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine outright fired 70 of its employees, obviously in recognition of their deep ties to Gaza's terrorist groups. Canada's former Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper did not need such blatant evidence of UNRWA's connection to terrorism. Its record of UNRWA schools teaching children in Gaza from curricula depicting Jews as enemies and exposing the children to music, stories, television series and plays emphasizing the importance of pledging allegiance to the noble jihad of bombing, shooting, knifing the 'enemy' set them up for life as martyrs.

 

And with a direct and clear vision of the UNRWA mission to maintain Palestinians as victims and 'refugees' in perpetuity, the Harper Conservative government cut off Canada's contributions to that grotesquely compromised arm of the UN. When the Liberals returned to govern Canada 11 years ago, then-Prime Minister Justin Trudeau reinstituted Canada's payments to UNRWA, and now that same Liberal government under Marc Carney has done the same.

In the immediate wake of the UNRWA firing announcement, Canada's minister of Foreign Affairs, Anita Anand announced $100 million of Canadian funding for the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, which came to a total of $500 on top of earlier pledges. The latest donation, according to the minister was in support of the UN, Red Cross, Red Crescent and assistance-delivering NGOs in the region delivering aid to Palestine. The very 'State of Palestine' that PM Marc Carney joined the U.K., France, Spain and Australia in formally recognizing earlier in the year at the UN.

 

To add to what is well enough known of the waywardness of the UN regarding Israel, a special rapporteur for the UN has publicly revealed having been 'bullied' by colleagues for her efforts in attempting to reveal the scale of the atrocities that took place on October 7. An investigation by USAID earlier this month laid claim to 101 current or former UNRWA members -- principals, teachers, security personnel, attendants, psychosocial counsellors and medical professional being part of the October 7 massacre, which led to the 70 staff being fired.

 

At least 1,462 UNRWA employees in Gaza are members of Hamas, PIJ, or similar organizations—comprising nearly 12% of the agency's workforce in Gaza were verified up to this point

 

Yet UNRWA stated that "The dismissal of the staff is not part of a disciplinary process and does not constitute in any way a validation of the claims made against them", a statement which Hillel Neuer  of UN Watch made mincemeat of. And then the case of UN special rapporteur on torture, Alice Edwards, whose exploratory visit to Israel to document what had occurred on October 7, when everything she witnessed was laid out in a letter meant to be released to the public under the auspices of the United Nations, which she represented.

 

During that trip which Ms. Edwards personally funded, she witnessed evidence of murder, decapitation, torture, mutilation, the burning alive of people, sexual torture including gang rapes, mutilation of sexual organs, and hostage-taking. A severe backlash within the United Nations to the content of the letter was what resulted. Ultimately the adverse comments from her UN colleagues saw to it that "the letter shrank considerably", in content and impact. And that letter was then "transmitted" via the Permanent Mission of the State of Palestine in Geneva -- to Hamas. 

 

Mohammad Abu Itiwi has been employed by UNRWA since July 2022. On October 7th, 2023 Mohammad Abu Itiwi led the murderous attack on the bomb shelter on Route 232 in the area of Re'im in southern Israel in which **16 were murdered, 4 were kidnapped, and only 7 survived**.

2025 Audit of Antisemitic Incidents

"Antisemitic conspiracy theories were disseminated with such frequency in 2025 that it is easier to summarize the totality of the accusations made against Jewish Canadians by simply stating that they were made the scapegoats for all the world's problems."

Antisemitism has become so ubiquitous in our society that the word Jew is now commonly used as a slur to disparage and malign non-Jews. In contemporary Canada, Jewishness itself has become derogatory."

The annual audit produced by B'nai Brith Canada through its League for Human Rights documents 6,800 antisemitism incidents across Canada. That would be the equivalent of 18.6 documented incidents occurring each and every day. Needless to say that number would report only those incidents brought to the attention of authorities, or in this instance, B'nai Brith. Not everyone experiencing the scourge of an antisemitic attack will report a verbal assault in person or online. It has become too commonplace, and Jewish resilience shrugs and carries on.

 

The number that was recorded and released in the audit represents the highest volume since the League began its audit production in 1982. Before October 7, 2023's Hamas-led terrorist attacks in southern Israel, antisemitism was confined to the underground, when civil society would not countenance it. By 2025, however the incidence of antisemitic slurs had increased by 145.6 percent since 2022. Antisemitism, noted the report, had become so widespread that it appears to grow on its own momentum, no longer linked to events such as the war in Iran.

The level of documented antisemitic incidents declined somewhat in both Quebec and Alberta in 2025. However, Ontario. the Prairies, Atlantic Canada and British Columbia saw significant increases in the number of antisemitic incidents. Most incidents occurred online, representing 92 percent of those reported, and appears to be part of a continuing trend. Year over year, the prevalence of online incidents of antisemitism have crept ever upward.

 

Listing recommendations for each level of government, the report called for a federal Royal Commission to be struck on antisemitism. Government at the federal level should establish a national antisemitism emergency task force -- should view violent antisemitic attacks as domestic terrorism and -- deploy added national security resources in the protection of Jewish institutions. 

 

As for the provinces and territories, the report recommends the immediate funding of security protection for Jewish institutions and the establishment of a special prosecution unit tasked specifically to address hate crimes The report recommended that municipalities ban events that incite hate and intimidation, exercise zero tolerance for intimidation expressed in public spaces, and for the prioritization of protecting Jewish neighbourhoods and institutions.

The report contains a section on "the demonization of Zionism". What the report does not do is make a record of the apparent lack of interest expressed by various levels of government throughout the country at the viral and all-too-obvious 'protests' against Israel's actions in taking military steps to defend itself from the never-ending perniciously violent actions of Palestinians -- organized terror groups, and ordinary Palestinian civilians as well who have been incited by their governments in the West Bank and Gaza to value martyrdom in the cause of obliterating the Jewish State from the Middle East.

 

A lack of interest in the face of threats against Canadian Jews, the constant vilification of Jewish Canadian institutions by Muslim groups for their support of Israel, the clear civil disruptions that offend Canadian law, a tolerance for hate manifested by repeated statements of globalizing the Intifada, of a 'Final Solution' as coded, but not too-subtle messages of violence against Jews that most municipal, provincial and the federal government tolerate, while decrying antisemitism and linking it to the evil of 'Islamophobia'; a meaningless sop when it is abundantly clear that Islamists within Canadian society are the fount of the avalanche of antisemitic rhetoric and venom of today.

President of the Qatari National Democratic Party, founder and opposition leader to the current Qatari government, Sheikh Al-Hail lives in exile in London, building a government-in-waiting, for a Doha far different from the current reality. As a wealthy businessman, Sheikh Al-Hail had once served as chairman of the board of over 30 Qatari companies with large-scale ventures country-wide. He left for London in 2013 as chairman and chief executive of Qatar Investment and Development Co.

 

In the space of a year, political differences of vast dimension between himself and newly-installed Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani saw his status changed from a highly respected Qatari businessman to a political opponent no longer welcome in his country of birth. A country while ostensibly an ally of the United States, the ruling elite of Qatar shelters and bankrolls Islamist Hamas, Taliban, al-Qaida affiliates and networks of the Muslim Brotherhood as one of the world's key state jihadi terrorism enablers.

 

Al Jazeera, the state's media arm, while barred in ten Arab countries, acts as a spokespiece for the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas positions in the interests of shaping opinion through media propaganda across the West and throughout the Arab world. Formerly an associate of a previous Qatar prime minister Hamad bin Jassim, Sheik Al-Hail was once welcome within the inner circle of the ruling elite before his break with the regime. The party he now leads began in 2010 as the Qatari Youth Rescue Movement, its goal to "reform the system in Qatar".

He first began to loom in the critical notice of the regime when he spoke publicly of "a corrupt financial system", propped up by political favouritism and patronage from the emir of Qatar. In 2014, the Sheik returned to Qatar after the assurances of Al Thani that he would be welcomed back. On his arrival back in Qatar he was taken to a "national security detention" centre, under accusations of planning a regime change. "I was surprised and shocked". In the 22 days that followed, he was tortured and bound through 20 hours of daily interrogation. 

 

He managed to escape with outside intervention, ("my people managed to smuggle me outside") -- fled to Egypt with over 9,000 documents revealing the extent of corruption by Qatari officials which included a scheme to overthrow the ruling family of Saudi Arabia. Qatar, he said "turned on Israel" in stages; cutting formal ties under regional pressure at the time of the Second Intifada; followed by  patronizing the terrorist group Hamas and its leaders. As a first act on becoming leader of Qatar, the Sheikh spoke of putting the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas on a plane to be "sent to Israel to face justice".  

 

Qatar's influence and the Muslim Brotherhood networks reach deep into Canada and other western democracies, stated the Sheikh. The largest foreign investor in US. higher education routing $6.6 billion into major universities, as a design to buy influence. Billions of Qatari dollars were infused into U.S. governmental institutions and policy-shaping systems, according to the Foundation for Defense of Democracies as well as a report by the Wall Street Journal.

As for Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's recent trip to Qatar and announcement of increased ties with the country -- in defence, trade and high tech -- this would have the effect of further ensnaring Canada into the same trap laid out for the United States, of a benign, trustworthy Middle East country -- despite all indications to the contrary -- with the allure of profitable bilateral trade, blinding Ottawa to the threats inherent in the presence of Qatari-aligned groups in Canada; Hezbollah and Hamas along with the Muslim Brotherhood among them.

In actual fact, the feds have 'done something'. They have helped to destroy that 'defining national priority' which they fail to recognize as one of their most vital responsibilities. The federal government -- the Liberal government, in all its successions -- views immigration as a far more important national priority than national security, much less the social benefits in health and welfare that any responsible government, particularly that of a recognized 'first-world' economy must see as its primary function. 

 

The Liberal government is obsessed with trade and prosperity for the nation, to be sure, alarmed at the falling birth rate, determined not to exploit the country's natural resources, and eager for a workforce that will continue to labour mightily to feature its special green and social welfare programs that appear to exclude the well-being of its population in its focus on promoting Critical Race Theory, DEI and wokeism. Where transgender rights and economic migrant intake reign supreme.

 

Under Canada's Liberal governments immigration, refugee intake and migrant acceptance have ballooned to the point where the government departments responsible for administering the programs along with verifying the status of applicants with background checks for undesirable affiliations and actions have gone by the board. Where due to indifference and lax attitudes toward security, Canada is a great place to launder financing of terrorism abroad.

 

Where on the streets of Canada operatives of the very terrorist groups that have made their deserved presence on the federal government's own proscribed terrorist lists walk about freely to harass and threaten Canadians. Where an estimated 600 agents of the Islamic Republic of Iran's government, its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Basij police have a presence, enjoying Canada's comfortable way of life. Where members of Hezbollah and Hamas have integrated themselves, along with the Muslim Brotherhood through infiltration of the country. 

 

Where they engage in the illicit drug trade, human smuggling, money laundering and the presence of illegal cryptocurrency shops that illegally send money abroad, funding terrorist groups as well as Iran's IRGC itself. Refugees brought in from Syria and the Palestinian territories to Canada so overwhelm the system of verification and application approval that scant attention is given to background checks resulting in Canada hosting as permanent residents and citizens, individuals highly connected with terrorism.

 

The fallout of the immense numbers of immigrants, refugees, migrants and foreign students on study visas that added millions to the Canadian population in just the last few years has had the added effect of straining the country's social welfare system, its public schools, housing, and hospital-medical facilities. There is a dire shortage of medical personnel; doctors, nurses, specialists, technicians and hospital beds. Schools are burdened with children learning English, and bringing with them the cultural attitudes of their home countries.

Professor Alecs Chochinow and his colleagues produced a commentary on the state of Canada's health care system, stressing the stories behind media reports of people dying after waiting long hours for care in hospital emergency rooms. Their report was published in the Canadian Journal of Emergency Medicine. In it, they produce startling figures and statistics as well as individual examples of the hapless failure of the country's universal medicare system.

 

As a result of emergency department crowding, they point out, an estimated 8,000 to 15,000 Canadians die each year. Deaths take place in the ED, on the wards or following a patient's release from  hospital prematurely to the patient's actual need for continued hospitalization. A 55-year-old woman died of cardiac arrest after waiting 11 hours in an emergency department in Winnipeg, awaiting admission to a hospital room. Another 44-year-old man died after spending 8 hours with chest pains in an Edmonton emergency room.

 A list of at least six potentially preventable deaths occurring over a two-week period was compiled in Alberta, including a 50-year-old man who perished from a bacterial blood infection causing multiple-organ failure. Emergency rooms across Canada routinely operate beyond 100 percent capacity; 30 to 40 stretchers and cubicles occupied by people assessed and 'admitted' to hospital are placed there awaiting an empty bed on a ward; beds filled with patients no longer requiring care, but nowhere to go to; in long-term care, or home care, or rehab.

Staff burnout, delayed diagnoses, errors and excess deaths result from this kind of crowding, with crowded emergency departments seen as proxies for crowded and dysfunctional hospitals. The federal government shrugs; health is a provincial matter. Yet the Canada Health Act points to timely access to care as a priority.

Israel and the United States attacked the Islamic Republic of Iran in coordinated but separate aerial bombardments on Saturday. The regime's nuclear sites, government offices, elite government and military figures were targeted for assassination, including the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Compounds of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Basij police were flattened. The U.S. focused on destroying the Iranian maritime fleet. Israel struck at countless rocket launchers and weapons depots. 

 

And on Sunday the Iranian clergy Grand Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani and Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi from the presidium of the Assembly of Seminary Students and Scholars in Qom, issued fatwas, authorizing Muslims anywhere and everywhere to wreak revenge for Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's assassination. It is fairly well known that government agents of Iran and IRGC operatives have infiltrated the west, they have assumed positions of influence to those countless Muslims now living in Canada and the United States who sympathize with Islamist jihad through Muslim Brotherhood affiliations.

 

Intelligence agencies in the U.S. and Canada are on the alert with the certain knowledge that retaliatory incidents could occur anywhere on their soil. It is anticipated that small-scale attacks by 'lone wolves' at the very least will occur as a result of the U.S.-Israeli conflict in Iran, prompted by the newly-issued fatwa. According to Mr. Gursky, small-scale targeted attacks with the use of guns, not bombs will be the likeliest to occur; even that criminal gangs could be contracted with by IRGC agents to carry them out.

This, without entirely ruling out a larger-scale event where Iran and its proxies, Hezbollah in particular with their well-established presence in both countries, might act in a concert of atrocities. As it is, Iran under attack, has lashed out in surprising ways, to launch missiles and drones throughout the Middle East, at Arab-Sunni states that are hostile to Tehran and Shiite-supporting states friendly to Iran, with equal abandon, sending countless missiles in an effort to fully involve the entire region. Lashing out in all directions could conceivably include much further abroad.

 

While Gurski points to Iran's transnational repression that targets diaspora communities such as Iranian-Canadians who deplore the regime, as being the likeliest targets in punishment of their hostility and agitation, M. Berman points out that retribution by Iran would make Jews vulnerable to violent attacks within both countries. Jewish schools, synagogues and community centres have been the focus of violent attacks in the past two years following the atrocities in southern Israel by Hamas on October 7, 2023. 

 

Counter-terrorism, both experts agreed, was the primary focus throughouy the 2000s, when the focus was in preventing jihadis -- al-Qaeda at the time primarily -- from executing attacks, followed by the Islamic State. Phil Gurski recalled that counter-terrorism at that time was "running to stay in place on jihadis", until former prime minister Justin Trudeau made the decision that the far right represented a larger, more imminently dangerous threat, and diverted resources to that presumed threat, from terrorism.

 

On the part of the United States, the diversion of attention to terrorism was overtaken by a perception of the need to focus on competition between the great political and economic powers that challenged American primacy. In the face of which the Middle East and Africa became afterthoughts of less concern, even while both regions ramped up their terrorist-jihad strides, leaving North American intelligence unprepared for the increased scale of their belligerent enterprises. "We're seeing that this problem set hasn't gone away", commented Mr. Berman wryly.

It took no more than a  decade to fundamentally alter Canada, reverse many of its values, not the least the outstanding human right assurance of equality and rights under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. With that assurance came the expected responsibility of each member of society to respect the social contract that ensured equal opportunities (if not equal outcomes) to succeed and prosper for Canadian citizens who obeyed Canadian laws and whose experience in the general education system helped them to understand their citizen obligations to the country. 

 

In an earlier era those rights and obligations were unevenly applied and issues of discrimination against minority groups reflected a European heritage of entitlement and belittlement of the exotic 'others' who had made their way into North America, many as refugees fleeing persecution and conflict. Under moderately good governance evinced by leaders who at best understood their own guiding obligations to the people they served, laws were passed that ushered Canada into an era of fair justice and social cohesion.

 

Migrants from abroad who entered Canada in the first half of the 20th century as immigrants from impoverished backgrounds to make a home for themselves in a new country where opportunities abounded worked hard, obeyed laws, and accommodated themselves to a new culture with values that suited their own notions of being and belonging. Canadian authorities refined immigration rules to eventually reflect Canada's needs in a point system that rewarded education, professional qualifications, age suitability and an assessed philosophical fit.

 

A succession of Liberal governments in more recent times gradually morphed toward the kind of liberal progressivism that loosened qualifications and requirements of suitability to join the Canadian population. Sympathy for people searching for haven from authoritarian governments, from endemic poverty, from societal crime rates, from conflict zones opened the gates of entry to Canada wide, including the refugee class and illegal migrants who bypassed normal entrance procedures to declare themselves refugees.

The intake swelled, fulfilling what government and business leaders professed to be a need to replace an aging, low-child-bearing population with new recruits to build Canada's working population. Entry to the country no longer relied on screening for adaptability and suitability for integration into the prevailing culture, its values and its laws. To the point where landed immigrants and new citizens openly declared their defiance of those values and accompanying laws, bringing havoc and division and open discrimination to the very streets of the cities throughout the country where they settled in influential numbers.

 

Newcomers to the country felt no loyalty to the country that had adopted them and there were no expectations from government that they should integrate and accept the prevailing social order as it was. Instead religious and ideological divisions erupted and with no amending reaction from government and institutions at any level, those divisions deepened, becoming more publicly expressed, including through deliberate acts of law-breaking.   

 

Canadians of long standing were treated to displays of overt challenges to the  public order in universities and cultural institutions where mass protests took to the streets, bringing foreign campaigns, conflicts, ideological convictions averse to Canada's own, to the fore, with no government intervention at any level. All the while Canada congratulated itself as a bastion of liberal democracy. Politicians rather than applying themselves to Canada's and its populations' defense, eyeing the numbers of voluble protests and the votes they represented, chose appeasement of activist groups.

And from the outside world, lax attention to the actions of foreign powers that invaded Canada's sovereignty through the infiltration of foreign agents acting on their behalf on the social, academic and political levels exercised the 'soft power' of authoritarian regimes and of extremist movements, effectively interfering in Canada's politics as well as the social contract unique to Canada. Russia, China, Iran, 
Qatar, Turkey and the Muslim Brotherhood all have made an indelible impact within Canada with their malign presence. 

 

The moral, institutional foundations of Canada's principles of equality and human rights have been assailed by Islamist, Marxist, socialist and other radical engagements in destabilizing Canada, as well as other Western nations they have entered both legally and under the radar. What all these Western nations appear to have in common is an attitude of oblivious disinterest in the interference and subtle changes being wrought in normalizing abnormal social behaviour and its effect on their institutions.

 

The exploitation of liberal societies, priding themselves on their Democratic principles of inclusion appear willing to accept the slow erosion of their adherence to the public weal rather than risk being labelled racist, exclusionary or 'Islamophobic'. Identity politics, moral relativism, and DEI guide governments content to do nothing in response to the unravelling of their nations' stability and social coherence. If there is a solution to Western democracies' inaction in the face of this dilemma, it has not yet shown its face.

Not only are some governments in the West recognizing finally the dire threat to Western civilization posed by the ideological fascism of Islamist fundamentalism espoused by the Muslim Brotherhood, they are now joined by a handful of Muslim countries as well whose governments have taken steps to outlaw their activities on their  soil. Among them is the United Arab Emirates which has been in the vanguard of issuing warnings to the West of the threat posed by this almost 100-year-old totalitarian Islamist group.

 

When President Donald Trump's government made it known it intended to "counter violence and destabilizing activities carried out by terrorist Muslim Brotherhood branches wherever they operate", a few branches of the Brotherhood were named as proscribed targets. A partial, and incomplete decision which should logically have outlawed the entire ideological/religio apparatus. Even that move, however, inspired the UAE to welcome the U.S. designation of several branches as terrorist organizations.

 

Unfortunately Mr. Trump's attention was to focus only on branches of the Muslim Brotherhood located in Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt, where it originated and from which the government of Egypt itself outlawed the group, which didn't stop it from continuing operations in Egypt. During the Arab Spring, when mobs of Egyptian dissenters called for Hosni Mubarak to step away from the presidency, the Muslim Brotherhood had huge support from the population. As it did from the U.S. Obama administration which chose to abandon its support for President Mubarak, and welcome the Brotherhood's Mohamed Morsi in his stead.

 

The Muslim Brotherhood is not alone in its "resources that enable them to engage in, support, or justify acts of extremism, hatred and terrorism" as the UAE put it. There is another source of all that the Brotherhood is recognized for, as a threat to Western values, heritage, society, culture and laws, that works studiously to accomplish the very same goal that motivates the Brotherhood. And that is the monarchy of Qatar whose vast riches from oil resources has enabled it to literally buy its way into the United States, furnishing tens of millions to American universities, while inserting itself into the political fabric of the U.S

Qatar is the Muslim Brotherhood financier, just as it plowed millions upon millions into terrorist group activities, most notably Hamas, in Gaza. The US. State Department itself has recognized Qatar as a chapter of the Muslim Brotherhood for decades. That acknowledgment has come to nothing, despite knowing Qatar finances Islamist jihad and terrorist outfits that exemplify jihadist terrorism.

 

All of this is well known, and recognized, and it cannot have slipped the attention of the U.S. president who nonetheless views Qatar as a U.S. protectorate. Mr. Trump went so far as to issue an order stating the U.S. "shall regard any armed attack on the territory, sovereignty or critical infrastructure of the state of Qatar as a threat to the peace and security of the United States". This, despite the Qatar funding of terrorism, including al-Qaeda which carried out the 9-11 attacks in New York, Washington/Pentagon and Pennsylvania. The 'art of the deal' enters the picture, with Qatari/U.S. business interests.

 

The Qataris are shrewd enough to know that even American presidents can be 'bought' with extravagantly expensive gifts. Qatar's strategy to undermine the West while funding the Muslim Brotherhood is known, yet its vast wealth and 'investments' abroad have gained it respectability and admiration. Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney stated his intention to meet with "the Amir of Qatar, His Highness sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to deepen the relationship between Canada and Qatar".

 

Underlining the fault lines between intelligence and caution in that the West has chosen to blind itself to the reality of extremism that the Muslim Brotherhood and its sponsors represent as a dire threat to all the West holds dear.

 

The Growing Influence of the Muslim Brotherhood on Politics, Academia, and Civil Society in Canada

This research report provides a comprehensive analysis of the organization and impact of the Muslim Brotherhood network in Canada. Over a period of decades, Brotherhood-affiliated organizations have managed to develop legitimate ties and wield considerable influence within Canada’s civil, academic, and political spheres. Branches of organizations that have previously been found to be supporting terror organizations such as Hamas continue to operate with impunity, often after rebranding themselves. The report also assesses the impact that these developments have had on Canadian university campuses, with a particular focus on McGill University, Concordia University, the University of Toronto, and York University.

"The ongoing diplomatic crisis between Qatar and its Gulf neighbours, which centres mainly on the country's alleged support for terrorism, represents one of the biggest challenges to the UK’s foreign policy to the Middle East since the Arab Spring. Qatar has been accused by its neighbours of supporting terrorism and there is substantial evidence that the country has long been supporting the Al Nusra Front, designated by the US in 2012 as a foreign terrorist organization and the Al Qaeda branch in Syria. The support has included coordination between Al Nusra commanders and senior Qatari military officials and financiers, financial assistance, and help in creating a new opposition coalition in which Al Nusra was a leading member. Qatar has also found other means to support Al Nusra in the face of the US designation including the facilitation or direct payment of ransom to the group for the released of kidnapped victims and the toleration of private, designated terrorist financiers within the country. The most significant of these financiers is an individual described by the US as a Qatar-based terrorist financier and facilitator who is also the President of an anti-Western political coalition comprised of prominent Salafi and Global Muslim Brotherhood leaders. This coalition includes at least seven leading figures and/or their organizations designated as terrorists by the United States, the EU, and/or the United Nations for their support of Al-Qaeda and related groups. Some of these figures and/or the organization itself have suggested direct attacks on the US and the UK military and the Qatari GAAC President himself has bragged about the close cooperation between GAAC and the violent Iraqi "resistance" against coalition forces."
