The Progress The President Has Made
"Doctors, nurses and all at the great Walter Reed Medical Center, and
others from likewise incredible institutions who have joined them, are
amazing... With their help, I am feeling well!"
U.S.President Donald J.Trump
"[Oxygen?] None at this moment and yesterday with the team, while we were all here, he was not on oxygen."
"[The president's symptoms including a mild cough and nasal congestion
were] now resolving and improving."
"At this time the team and I
are extremely happy with the progress the president has made."

The President of the United States of America remains, for the time being, in charge of his duties as president. When he entered Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday it was, according to his doctors and his spokespeople in an "excess of caution"; he had sustained a light fever. Since then, over 24 hours had passed fever-free, and doctors at the Center tell the media that President Donald Trump had never been placed on supplemental oxygen simply because there was no need for it.
He is deemed fundamentally healthy, albeit obese, a condition that is said to be quite as averse to a good outcome emerging from COVID-19 as is his age, and conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes. According to the White House, President Trump's stay at the Center would likely be no longer than several days. One of his attending physicians, Dr.Sean Conley, would not commit to a time line though he said he was "cautiously optimistic".
In questioning by the press, Dr.Conley appears to have misspoken somewhat, referring to a point in time when it was known through testing that President Trump was positive for having acquired COVID-19, which would have placed him at public gatherings at a time when it was known he had contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus causing COVID. Assuredly, a more careful examination of the critical time lines will demonstrate that such was not the case....
Mr. Trump, according to the medical staff looking to his welfare, was treated with a single dose of Regeneron's experimental antibody cocktail, a therapy that is a combination of two highly potent antibodies against the coronavirus spike protein currently being tested in clinical trials. Top U.S. infectious disease official Anthony Fauci, has referred to the medicines as a 'bridge' to a vaccine for COVID-19.

The experimental therapy is an artificial version of the antibodies occurring naturally by the immune system in its reaction to fight off infection. Mr. Trump's swift diagnosis indicates that the treatment could boost his body's response against the pathogen. "We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately", Mr. Trump tweeted when he announced early Friday he and his wife Melania had tested positive for COVID-19. "We will get through this TOGETHER!"
Mr. Trump's initial symptoms were of a mild variety. He is 74 years of age, with an elevated body mass index of 30 which places him in the obese category, but he is also considered to be in "excellent" health condition. Gilead's remdesivir aside, the other approved treatment for COVID-19 is the steroid dexamethasone; both drugs studied in people at the severe end of the spectrum; patients with moderate to severe disease often hospitalized and on oxygen.
Most people who contract COVID experience a relatively mild viral illness, while older people are known to be at higher risk of complications which could require hospital admission and possibly intensive care. According to a July paper by the U.S.National Bureau of Economic Research, an otherwise healthy 70- to 79-year-old risk of dying from the coronavirus is put at 4.6 percent, irrespective of gender.
