Turning the Silk Purse of Anti Racism into the Sow's Ear of Racism

"It took only two days for the federal government to cut funding to Hockey Canada once it became public knowledge that the organization's history of sexual misconduct was an ongoing affir. he delay in addressing the Marouf affair was tantamount to] absolute silence [on hatred of Jews] by a government that clearly condones it."
Conservative Member of Parliament, Melissa Lantsman

"Do I wish that we've been able to move the process along more quickly? Absolutely."
"But it was also important that we get this right to ensure accountability for this organization."
Diversity Minister Ahmed Hussen

"I alerted him and I persistently communicated with the minister in his office from the day I learned about it until today, and aggressively demanded that action be taken."
"Action could have been taken more quickly."

The man hired by the Government of Canada through various government departments to help in the battle against racism in Canada, earned a profitable $600,000 since 2015 as a professional 'expert' in the area of discrimination. He regularly referred to the source of his income as "Apartheid Canada". Laith Marouf, aside from the Government of Canada regarding him as an expert organizer of anti-racism training sessions was a prolific user of social media. Which revealed him to be a rabid racist.

His readily accessible commentary Googled with little effort would bring up sentiments such as "Jewish White Supremacists deserve only a bullet to the head". As well as tidbits like Jews being "loud-mouthed bags of human feces" who would in time be purged from Palestine. And nor did he ignore racial slurs targeting Black or Indigenous people, regarding them as "house slaves". Francophones he regarded as low-IQ "frogs" speaking an "ugly" language.

Opinions that any shallow and casual background search would have unearthed. But the government of Liberal Justin Trudeau while quick to portray itself as a guardian of equality and justice and respect for others, proves the depth of its commitment on any occasion by speaking loudly in self-congratulation as a stalwart upholder of human rights and racial equality, while in practical reality is really not that much interested in the topic beyond condemning it. Action really does speak louder than words but in Trudeau's instance there is never any need to go beyond words.

Minister Hussen was all innocence with the misfortune of being too trusting and so he was blindsided by Marouf's social media statements. Prime Minister Trudeau on the other hand, found cause to boast that his government "took action quickly" once Marouf's explicit racism was revealed. Of course that requires a more explicit statement, as in revealed to the public, since the government knew the lay of the land in Marouf's penchant for expressing clearly racist sympathies long before the news hit press.

Marouf was so assured of the disinterest of the government and so committed to his venomous hatred he made no effort to shield himself from discovery. As far as he was concerned his anti-Jewish incitement to violence was fully justified. As far as he was concerned, the government of Justin Trudeau would agree with him; he had no reason to believe otherwise given the casual way his actual position on racism was shrugged off.

When Twitter suspended his account in 2021 for his egregious promotion of violence against Jews, he placed the blame for being suspended on the "Zionist lobby". Mark Goldberg, a tech consultant began tracking Marouf's career as a federal anti-racism trainer and by July 2021 criticized in blog posts the large federal grants that Marouf's organization was enjoying, describing it as "funding hate" on the part of government.

As early as mid-July Hussen's office staffers were warning the Prime Minister's Office of Marouf. Israeli-Canadian Liberal MP Ya'ara Saks reportedly spent weeks trying to sound the alarm within the Trudeau government of the absurdity of Marouf's position as a racism expert. Minister Hussen admitted in the House of Commons latterly that he had known the background of Marouf's attitude before it became public, yet took no action pending a "review".

As far as Marouf, the slander-spouting racism expert is concerned, his cushy government contract cessation made him a victim of a "Zionist organized harassment campaign": that a "complacent Colonial media" enabled.
