Innocent Until Proven
The savage slaughter that took place in Mumbai is the work of some mysterious overseer obviously involved in the cause of upholding Islam's divinely spiritual right to assert itself over lesser religions distasteful to Muslims. But not, as claimed, the work of Lashkar-e-Taiba, whose leaders the government of India has pleaded with Pakistan to render to them for justice. The sole surviving jihadi of the ten who successfully held the combined police and army and tactical squads of Mumbai at bay for over three days of slaughter and mayhem may have admitted to having been trained in a Lashkar-e camp, but he is obviously delusional, or craftily placing the honour where it has not been earned.
Yes, the terror group's magazine praises the "freedom fighters" who slaughter in the cause of 'freeing' Kashmir from Indian hands, and they do train would-be jihadis who flock to their camps from countries the world over, but it was not they involved in this instance. Therefore, there is no need for a reluctant Pakistani military to remove them and hand them over to a justice-determined India.
It was simply incidental that the Mumbai killers were in contact with the commanders of Lashkar-e, throughout their operations and during their voyage by sea from Karachi to Mumbai. Stranger things have happened. It was, actually, an evil plan obviously concocted by those invidious conspirators, the Indians, Israelis, Americans, seeking to cast blame on the blameless.
It is also, needless to say, incidental and supremely coincidental that Lashkar-e-Taiba has close and comfortable links with al-Qaeda, and the Taliban; they are of a kind with a common goal, so it is hardly surprising. Circumstantial, however. For their friendships date from the time of the Russian invasion of Afghanistan, when good Muslims defended their own.
Nor does the fact that Hafez Mohammed Saeed, leader of the Lashkar-e claim that "we will not rest until the whole of India is dissolved into Pakistan... May Allah bestow martyrdom on us and enter us into the higher ranks of Paradise", have any connection or meaning to the Mumbai carnage.
Connecting the dots is a game played by children, after all.
