But there it is, the United States and Ukraine both charging that an obvious escalation of the ongoing crisis between the Government of Ukraine and the 'governments' of the Peoples Republic of Donetsk/Peoples Republic of Luhansk as proxies for the Russian Federation is a reality. In fact, they claim, Russia has launched artillery attacks from its side of the border onto Ukrainian troops.

Even while it prepares to move more heavy-duty weapons across the border, into the hands of the ethnic Russian thugs whose entitlement to Ukrainian geography has convinced them that the geography is really Russian territory and the Government of Ukraine is criminally irresponsible not to recognize that rather simple fact.

For its part, Russia accuses Washington of lying. It is Ukraine that has fired across the border on a Russian village And to ensure that Kyiv knows just how fed up Moscow is with its perfidy and malevolence, it has toughened economic sanctions on the Ukrainian economy by banning dairy products from importation into Russia.

Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council's Andriy Lysenko described five salvos of heavy rockets fired across the border close to the town of Kolesnikov in Luhansk region as well as another border crossing near Marynovka fired with mortar from the Russian side. Not to mention three Russian drones shot down by Ukrainian forces.

According to Pentagon spokesman Col. Warren, the United States has seen powerful rocket systems moving closer to the Ukraine border. That apart from American authorities' belief the separatists had assistance from Russia in shooting down the Malaysia Airlines Flight that killed 298 civilian passengers, with a SAM missile, even if it was possibly a strike intended to shoot down a military plane.

American officials stated they were in possession of new evidence pointing to Russia's intent to deliver heavier and more powerful multiple rocket launchers to the separatists; a delivery that is on the brink of happening, "it's that close". There was no indication that Ukraine had shelled Russia, affirmed Col Warren of Russian counter-claims.
