Belgium's Turn ... Who Is Next?

"Islamic State fighters carried out a series of bombings with explosive belts and devices on Tuesday, targeting an airport and a central metro station in the center of the Belgian capital Brussels, a country participating in the coalition against the Islamic State."
"Islamic State fighters opened fire inside the Zaventem airport, before several of them detonated their explosive belts, as a martyrdom bomber detonated his explosive belt in the Maalbeek metro station."

"First France, now Brussels. This can be a problem for refugees."
"[Just a year ago], Europe liked Syrians. After the Paris attacks things changed."
"I am worried that people will think that Syrians or Muslim people are a problem."
Ahmad Ayman, 23, Syrian refugee in Athens, Greece

"To lump everybody together and say refugees are posing a security risk, that is not true. Any sort of hostilities because of the Brussels attack or Paris attack is misplaced."

“Often our enemies are already inside our cities. We need to control not only with policemen but also with elementary schoolteachers if we want to salvage at least the next generation."
"You can’t miss the symbolic meaning of the attacks — a few hundred meters away from European institutions. They hit Brussels, and Europe’s capital."
Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi
Well yes indeed, the truth of the matter is that the 'enemy' is within. He is without the boundaries of Europe, and within its boundaries. What the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant sees as the purity of Islam mandating its presence and consolidating its position faithful to its origins and its divine orders is what its sympathizers living deep within Europe, with citizenship and all the entitlements that accrue to them, recognize as their faith's expectations of them.

Passages in the Koran exhort the faithful not to rest until the only true monotheistic religion in the world has surpassed and encompassed all others. This is the ultimate duty of Muslims, to obey the injunctions that urge them to comply with Islam's laws impressing the faithful with the divine instructions to recognize jihad and conquest as their goal on Earth. Their reward, as martyrs, will be to rise to Paradise as did the Prophet Mohammed.

If only a relative handful of the hordes of Muslims who have migrated to the West heed the call to action, they would and do represent a meaningful proportion. They who dedicate themselves to martyrdom are admired and honoured by those who empathize with their courage in forfeiting their own lives in the process of electing to be the vehicle whereby numerous non-Muslims are introduced to a death that does not include elevation to Paradise.

This is a curious symbol of Islam, albeit to the Western eye, a sinister pathological psychopathy born of religious devotion. Claims that the 'religion of peace' honours life and does not instruct its members to sow terror in the name of Islam run counter to the reality seen around us on a daily basis through reportage of Islamist raids of violently bloody dimensions in east Asia, North Africa, and the Middle East, as Islam in a paroxysm of self-hate, devours itself with the major sects in mortal conflict with one another.

The Belgian federal prosecutor, Frédéric Van Leeuw, stated that police discovered the presence of a bomb containing nails during house raids in Brussels conducted in a follow-up to Tuesday’s attacks. Authorities found "chemical products and a flag of the Islamic State", as well as the explosive device, according to Mr. Van Leeuw, when searches of the Schaerbeek neighbourhood of Brussels were carried out.

Belgian authorities speculated widely about the possible proliferation of sympathizers and those who gave aid and haven to the Paris attackers. Now, they can extend that speculation in contemplating the numbers living in the Belgian suburbs like Molenbeek to imagine if they can that among ordinary citizens, Muslims and non-Muslims alike, live those plotting to destroy Belgian life and reinvent it on the order of magnitude of the very failed states whose human rights-violating excesses they originally fled from.
Police say they are looking for the man on the right in connection with the Brussels attack.

An airport closed circuit surveillance video shows three men in the airport departure lounge; two wearing black, the other in light-coloured clothing. Investigators feel the man in the light-coloured clothing had planted a bomb at the airport; that done, he left. The two men in black are believed to have been the suicide bombers.

Authorities consider the man on the right 'wanted', asking for help from the public to track him down. "The third man left a bomb in the airport, but it didn't explode. ... And we are now looking for this guy."
