Giving Life For Lives Taken
Perhaps more accurately, preserving the lives of ardent would-be mass murderers by incarcerating them, perhaps for the balance of their natural lives. In countries where the death penalty is never visited upon criminals, regardless of how unthinkably brutal and far-reaching the effects of their predations on society, those found guilty of horrendous crimes are imprisoned.And here is where the irony lies: Fanatical Islamists whose purpose is to destroy the West toward their goal of establishing a global caliphate where shariah law is paramount, are spared death for their pains in attempting mass murder. In Muslim countries where shariah is practised, death is meted out to homosexuals, women with' loose morals', apostates and adulterers.
The enlightened, liberal West, that great irreligious concatenation of like-minded countries who value the sanctity of life, cannot bring themselves to end the lives of even those who brutalize and diminish society. While the countries of the world for whom an orthodox faith is paramount to their value system, particularly Islam, extracts life from those who flout social-religious-cultural mores.
Three British Muslims whose viral antipathy for the West as assaulters of Islam, engage in a plot to take the lives of perhaps thousands of innocent people, through blowing up transAtlantic airliners. Security agencies of the country in which they live, in the society of which they are an integral portion, detect their plot, apprehend them on the cusp of engagement, and they are brought to trial.
Found guilty, they are then sentenced to life imprisonment. And informed that they may never be released. The presiding judge stated: "There is every likelihood that this plot would have succeeded but for the intervention of the police and the security service. A massive loss of life would almost certainly have resulted."
Has the community whose religion they share, and which resides in Britain, and which has been integrated into its society to an unimaginable extent, stood up in outrage against this planned assault against other human beings and denounced them, and dedicated themselves to committing to searching among themselves for others of their ilk?
Islamist terrorists would have taken delighted ownership of the catastrophe that would have resulted from the success of this plan. The Muslim ummah, living abroad, partaking of all the privileges offered them as equal citizens of the West, raise no concerted voice of protest. Why, precisely, is that?
