Pakistan-Sourced Terror
Pakistan, the West's purported ally on the 'war on terror', has long subscribed to institutional terror. Its miserably paranoid relationship with India has acculturated Pakistan to a fanatical focus on viewing India as an enemy to be destroyed. There are almost as many Muslims living in India and protected by Indian law, as citizens of the country than there are in all of Pakistan.Yet Pakistan is forever plotting against India, seeking to destabilize it, provoking it to armed conflict in the two countries' claims on sovereignty over Kashmir. India must constantly be alert to the potential of attacks on its soil by Islamist terrorists. These are terror groups that exist with the blessing and active assistance of Pakistan, on Pakistani soil.
Terror groups groomed by Pakistan's military and its spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence agency (ISI). Such as Lashkar-e-Taiba, dedicated to destabilizing India, and responsible for the atrocious attack on Mumbai in 2008 that killed 164 innocent people. The ten Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were trained and equipped with the deliberate aid of the ISI; armed with guns, grenades and bombs.
The "Army of the Good", Lashkar-e-Taiba, has deep-seated links to the Pakistani military. Which, of course, the military denies, as does the Pakistani administration. The lone member of that killer squad who survived the Mumbai attack related how he and his fellows were in constant cellphone contact with those who ordered the attack, given instructions on how to proceed as the bloody drama unfolded.
Despite the continued rejection of involvement by the Government of Pakistan, Indian authorities knew full well from their suspicions, and the results of the interrogation of Ajmal Kasab, just how involved they were. And now, Indian security has in their custody one of the architects of that Mumbai attack. Handed over to Indian authorities by Saudi Arabia where he was arrested in the act of recruiting for a new plot in Saudi Arabia.
According to Indian officials Zabiuddin Ansari (Abu Jindal) has named Lashkar-e-Taiba commanders and agents of Pakistan's military spy agency. Lashkar-e-Taiba's leader, Hafeez Saeed, still operates freely within Pakistan, appears on Pakistani television, and has the freedom to express his views, even while Pakistani authorities know full well he was present in the Karachi control room authorizing the Mumbai killings.
There is irony in abundance here. Saudi Arabia, which funded the Wahabbist-based madrassas in Pakistan that trained Islamic youth to value martyrdom to the fundamentalist cause of Islam, providing numerous recruits to jihad, has produced terrorist groups which now threaten the stability of Saudi Arabia.
In its concern over its own well-being, Saudi Arabia has linked itself with India, as a front-line state in the war on terror.
