UNRWA's Palestinian Refugee Permanence, 'Pay-for-Slay'

"Once again we have witnessed the nauseating spectacle of western governments -- which sanitize, fund and pump up the genocidal Palestinian Arab cause -- expressing shock and sympathy with Israel over these attacks [while continuing] to fund the Palestinian Authority despite the PA's 'pay-to-slay[' policy of rewarding the families of terrorists for every Israeli Jew they murder, and despite its never ending incitement to murder Jews and steal Israel's land."
Melanie Phillips, British journalist

"It's time to admit that Palestinian institutions are broken, and that they have developmentally harmed generations of Palestinian men and women, boys and girls, by whipping them into a constant froth with violently antisemitic educational and media content that celebrate 'martyrdom' attacks against Israelis."
"The Palestinian Authority provides a financial incentive for terrorism by providing pensions to the families of those who attack Israelis."
Palestinian political analyst Bassem Eid
"We will neither reduce nor prevent [payment] of allowances to the families of martyrs, prisoners and released prisoners, as some seek, and if we had only a single penny left, we would pay it to families of the martyrs and prisoners."

This is the man who presents himself on the world stage as the aggrieved partner-for-peace while denouncing Israel as a cruel occupier of Arab land that just happens to be located on ancestral Judean geography. But then such bothersomely inconsequential details are an irritant that Mahmoud Abbas is accustomed to dealing with. As he iterates and reiterates the misconceptions of history, personally giving his assurance that this land always belonged to Arabs who were, he avers, the original Palestinians

Even the Roman Empire got it wrong, and out of the goodness of his heart, Abbas stands prepared to correct their misimpression and he has already started, publishing maps identifying no Judean land, only a large swath labelled 'Palestine" as he lobbies the United Nations member bodies to proceed with giving its imprimatur to a unilateral announcement of the State of Palestine becoming an honoured member of the General Assembly. Or who knows...the permanent Security Council for its expertise in war and peace.

As for paying the martyrs and the prisoners and ex-prisoners of justifiable and honourable 'resistance' to the occupation that annoyingly keeps resisting the violence streaming at it from the West Bank and Gaza Strip, nothing, ever, will deter their handsome emoluments for a job well done. Recently the human rights group Palestinian Media Watch revealed that recently-released prisoners Karim and Maher Younig each collected close to $100,000 for their murder of Avraham Bromberg, a corporal in the Israel Defence Forces.

Where does an incipient 'nation' given refugee status in perpetuity by the United Nations' UNRWA get the funding to award such munificent sums to its terrorists from? An Arab-administered area so penurious that the international community through the United Nations, United States, European Union and other Western countries feel obligated to fund its civil infrastructure to enable the Palestinian Authority (Fatah/PLO) and Hamas in the West Bank and Gaza to operate?

It has long been documented that the PA schedules rewards for the terrorists it incites into the martyrdom death cult, from childhood onward through school curricula to social media programs to identify Jews as their enemy, to teach the vulnerable young of their duty as Palestinians to 'resist' the 'occupation' of apartheid Israel -- with its two million Palestinian citizens, along with Christian, Druze, Baha'i, Bedouin citizens --  creating in them a passion for martyrdom.

The PA has a per capita GDP of about $3,500, and an unemployment rate of 25 percent. Many Palestinians find employment and a working wage through jobs offered them in Israel where they can earn more than working in the West Bank or Gaza, if they can find jobs there.  Without outside funding for civic services, for hospitals, schools and social programs, there would never be finances available to pay for the PA's well-institutionalized 'pay-for-slay'.

That funding arrives through the generosity of the United States, its largest funder which provides hundreds of millions to the PA and Hamas through UNRWA. Canada too is a large contributor to the extended programs that effectively pay salaries to terrorists or to their families should they die in the line of duty to kill Israeli Jews. The countries that gasp in horror at the atrocities committed in Jerusalem against Jews are those very countries that fund the actions of the murderers.

In the very week, scant days afterward, of the slaughter of 7 Jews after Friday prayer at a synagogue  and the wounding of many others, the U.S. Secretary of State on a Middle East visit to Israel and the West Bank handed an additional $50 million over to the PA, over and above the $300 million recently given UNRWA. Funding that was revoked by Canada's former Prime Minister Stephen Harper and by former U.S. President Donald Trump in acknowledgment of UNRWA's role in transferring funds used to fund murder.

Funding that was speedily restored by their successors, U.S. President Joe Biden, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Both of whom give no thought whatever to what it is they are actually funding.

Slaughtering Forbearance and Decency

"He was as much a humanitarian as a journalist."
"He just felt that the world had to know ... the world had to know about the evil."

"The principles that shaped Danny's work and character ... objectivity and integrity; insightful and unconventional perspective; tolerance and respect for people of all cultures; unshaken belief in the effectiveness of education and communication."
Foundation in memory of Daniel Pearl
A so-called "link analysis" from the Pearl Project shows the clues Nomani and others uncovered in their search for Danny's killers.

Islamist terrorists are wholly committed to martyrdom. This is a concept that the Iranian Revolution managed to re-instill in the faith-consciousness of Lebanese Shiites who embraced the opportunity to prove their devotion to Islam by surrendering their lives to the greater purpose of serving Islam. This is the Islam that calls upon its faithful to sacrifice that which most human beings hold most dear: existence.

Their willingness to die on behalf of advancing Islam and to celebrate that choice has spread and become a modern-day Islamic battlecry in Allahu Akbar! [God is Great!]

These sacrifices are extolled by the leaders of these fiercely fanatical Islamist jihad movements who from the comfort of their protected havens as leaders, urge young recruits to embrace their opportunity to die a celebrated shaheed whose memory will be blessed, whose family will be financially recompensed, and whose name will live on, memorialized as exalted martyrs whose exploits are taught to the young and impressionable children who will eventually take their place.

Terrorists of this stripe -- Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic State -- while claiming to love death and the opportunities it affords them to sacrifice themselves for Islam, scorn Infidels and Jews for loving life, and striving to maintain it as nature intended, endowing all living organisms with the instinct for survival of the species, collectively and singly. To struggle to combat this instinct as jihadis do, represents the culminating triumph of Islam, capable of overriding nature itself, inspiring in its followers the zeal to self-destruct.

The problem as Westerners see it is that the zeal to commit suicide in the name of a religion, is coupled with the intention of taking with them as they die, as many innocent non-Muslims as they can manage; hence the suicide bombers and their glorying in the macabre success of their suicide-murder ventures. The triumph of orchestrating a gruesome death for a journalist had its hallmark in the death of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl.

When the shocked world looked on twelve years ago, as he was forced to state: "My name is Daniel Pearl. I am an American Jew", personifying all that Islamist terrorists most despise and hope to destroy: the very symbol of Western Democratic advance in society, science, technology, religious tolerance, cultural progress: the combination of American and Jew. And now, after the grisly death by beheading through sawing through the neck of journalist James Foley, videoed to the world, a repeat, with a threat to the life of another American journalist Jew to follow for good measure.

"Until the morning of November 4, 1979, however, the phrase [the "Great Satan"] had remained mostly rhetorical -- a denunciation rather than a battle cry. That morning a crowd of Iranian students milled about outside the gates of the American embassy in downtown Tehran. Anger mounted in the chilly air. Very soon the crowd of chanting students, enraged over U.S. support for the dictatorial shah, turned into a surging mob. Panicked, the American sentries retreated into the embassy grounds and then into the embassy building itself when the steel gates gave way Armed with sticks and stones and a few pistols, students swarmed into the compound. Within a few hours they had created history by capturing and holding hostage an entire diplomatic corps, consisting of seventy-two people."
"Never had a Western power suffered similar humiliation. For 444 days the embassy personnel were imprisoned in their own quarters."
"'The agents of imperialism', the [Ayatollah Khomeini] told his followers, 'are busy in every corner of the Muslim world drawing our youth away from us with their evil propaganda. They are converting them into Jews and Christians; they are corrupting them, making them irreligious.' Khomeini offered images of Muslim children being turned into gamblers, prostitutes, addicts, and alcoholics because of sectarian strife and moral corruption."
"Khomeini's words and deeds encouraged militants in Lebanon, Kuwait, and Bahrain to kill and kidnap Americans and Westerners. Civil war-torn Lebanon, in particular, proved susceptible to Khomeini's anti-American foreign policy rhetoric. Following the "line of the Imam", Lebanese Shiite commandos [Hezbollah/The Party of God] perfected suicide or "martyrdom" bombings against U.S. and Israeli targets. Sheikh Mohammed Yazbek, a radical Lebanese Shiite leader, gave a speech praising the 1983 bombing of the marine compound as a "noble action because it shook America's throne. Let America, Israel, and the world know that we have a lust for martyrdom and our motto "--'Death to America' -- is being translated into reality."
