On Thursday, 7 August, 35-year-old Mohammed Khatib learned that his refugee status in Belgium was being revoked — allegedly over his verbal support for Palestinian armed resistance and alleged links with international terrorism. Khatib is the Europe coordinator of the Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, Samidoun. A Palestinian himself, he co-founded the organisation in 2011 after fleeing to Belgium from Lebanon in 2010, where he had grown up in the Ain El Hilweh refugee camp.

The decision to revoke his refugee status follows a campaign labelling him a “hate preacher,” initiated by the Belgian far-right on social media and taken up by former State Secretary for Asylum and Migration Nicole De Moor, who announced a procedure against him in October 2024.

The case, overseen by the Commissioner General for Refugees and Stateless Persons (CGRA), is based on information collected by the Coordination Unit for Threat Analysis (CUTA), which classifies Khatib a “serious” security threat.

Samidoun has been outlawed in Canada -- presumably, since it has been placed on Canada's terror list along with Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis and so many other terror groups. It has been outlawed elsewhere as well, notably Germany. But it is in Vancouver, Canada, that Samidoun chose to make its home where it engages in anti-Israel propaganda and promotes antisemitism generally, and despite its listing still uses its Vancouver headquarters with seeming impunity.

 

Canada's Liberal-led governments appear to have a soft spot for Palestinian 'rights' and have latterly emerged as a stern critic of Israel; its previous warm relations with the Jewish state seem to have evaporated in the last decade, even more so since the barbaric slaughter that took place in southern Israel when thousands of Palestinian terrorists and civilians led by Hamas spilled over from Gaza to commit mass murder, torture and rape of Israeli citizens on October 7, 2023.

 

Palestinians have been given favoured status through immigration, refugee intake and illegal migration. Nor has there been a shortage of arrivals in Canada of members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps where their family members live in quiet security, their presence alarming to the nth degree to the far more numerous Iranian-Canadians who loathe the Iranian regime and fear their representatives in Canada whose presence seems not to bother the government of prime minister Mark Carney one whit.

Interestingly, it seems at long last that ordinary Canadians have had enough of Palestinian 'student groups' creating chaotic scenes of anti-Israel propaganda and threats against Canadian Jews. Foreign coordinated marches, demonstrations and other forms of public displays of civil disobedience and lawlessness where keffiyeh-clad and masked pro-Hamas followers demonstrate their choice of 'human rights defence' by calling for an international Intifada, for a 'Final Solution', and chanting 'From the river to the sea'. Nor have mass public prayers shutting down roadways and intersections proven enchanting to the greater Canadian public.

A recent poll has resulted in just under fifty percent of Canadians revealed to be opposed to the Liberal federal government's decision to expedite student visa processing for Palestinians from Gaza. Immigration Minister Lena Diab last month announced her decision to expedite visa processing for 37 students from Gaza, along with their families. Commissioned by the HR Canada Charitable Organization, the Leger poll asked respondents whether they believed the policy would help students whose education had been disrupted by war, or whether they felt "speeding up the process could make it more difficult to adequately identify potential security risks, including individuals with extremist affiliations". 

 

The decision to expedite visa processing was opposed by forty-three percent of respondents, while 38 percent supported it, and the remaining 19 percent answered "I don't know". Results that demonstrate notable public concern and uncertainty for the planned acceleration of visa processing for Gaza Palestinian students related to perceived security risks in permitting radicalized Palestinians into Canada. Indubitably because Canadians have seen more than enough of such radicalized Palestinians already in Canada and making their presence all too well known.

A new exhibit on the Nakba, recounting the personal experiences of Canadian Palestinians who fled or were forced from their homes in 1948, is coming to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. However, at least one Jewish organization is concerned it will lack historical and current geopolitical context.  CBC

 

What irony, the founder of the museum, Israel Asper, visualized its purpose to speak to the world of the horrors of the Holocaust, that it never be forgotten as a signal event in the mid-20th century when state-driven genocide alongside a world war contrived to dehumanize European Jewry on their way to total annihilation. The museum has undergone a change in purpose from highlighting real instances of monumental human rights abuses to become a showpiece for propaganda against Israel, the Jewish state that rose on its ancestral geography from the ashes of six million lives -- half the world's entire Jewish population.

 

Canada, through immigration, refugee intake from war-torn Middle East and North African countries, and illegal migration, has become a cesspool of Jew-hate. Its rise accelerated by the savagery of the 7 October, 2023 flood of Palestinian terrorists into southern Israel from Gaza on a mission to destroy, sadistically terrorize and rape, mutilate and murder 1,200 mostly civilians, comprised of infants, children, the elderly, in farming communities close to the Gaza border. Slaughtered also were foreign farm workers, who were also taken hostage along with Israeli children, their parents, young adults from a music festival and soldiers.

 

Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Fatah and other terrorist operatives along with Palestinian civilians took pride in their atrocities, to the extent of documenting their acts of inhumanity on videos they later posted to social media. Their crimes included burning families alive, mass rapes, mutilation of girls and women amidst the rapes, forcing children to witness their parents being tortured and parents forced to watch their children tortured and murdered. All atrocities that Palestinians later claimed Israelis perpetrated on them.

 

Apologists for Palestinian 'victimhood' in the international community find reasons to overlook the barbarity, with claims that inhumane occupation made for desperate acts of people seeking freedom. Palestinians always had the freedom to choose their own destinies, but they mired themselves solidly in the self-serving delusion that the land on which Israel stood was theirs, resulting in constant murderous attacks on Jews at the very same time they portrayed themselves as victims and Jews their oppressors. In refusing a state alongside that of the Jews, Palestinians held out for destroying Israel and taking all the land -- ancient Judean patrimony.

Bringing their lurid grievances with them to Canada, Palestinians and their Muslim-Canadian supporters ply the fiction of victim and oppressor, denying that the atrocities of October 7 took place, irrespective of the much-celebrated videos depicting the horrors, and convincing a wide audience across the world of their 'cause'; being refused a Palestinian state of their own after turning down one Israeli negotiated proposal after another for a state in exchange for recognition of Israel's sovereign presence.

 

That the Canadian Museum for Human Rights has become yet another Canadian institution that supports the 'rights' of Palestinians to what they claim is theirs, and mourning the existence of the state of Israel as an instrument of Palestinian oppression, now engaged in 'genocide' after depriving Palestinians of their state, is yet another milestone for the public relations machinery that grinds away at the legitimacy of the Jewish state, along with that of Canadian Jews, monstrously slandered and threatened and isolated in the very country they have lived in for centuries.

 

The world is willing to acknowledge the 750,000 Palestinians who fled with the re-establishment of Israel in 1948, yet is totally disinterested in the 850,000 Arabized Jews who lived for a millennia and more in Muslim countries in the Middle East and North Africa who were exiled, their properties and goods taken from them in 1948. The Jews were never considered refugees, were never compensated, never given assistance from the United Nations. The Arab Palestinians, on the other hand, were given the eternal status of refugees, fully financially and politically supported by the United Nations.

It took years to plan, a large, shocking event, an ambitious plan for a dedicated terrorist group to embark upon, knowing it would be entering the lair of a lion whose wrath, once provoked, would eclipse in numbers any death-dealing the terrorist group, even when tasking 6,000 of its operatives to enter Israel at the Gaza border with instructions to plunder, destroy, rape, mutilate and murder would achieve. The plan was explicit in its dedication to death-dealing for Israelis, another mini-Holocaust they could be proud of. A mission their leader sent them to fulfill and to document. Grisly scenarios they would be proud of and circulate as a demonstration of just how courageous men armed with total disregard for life, utterly devoid of compassion, using all the weapons of war on a civilian population.

And just as it took years in careful, precision planning by a man whose purpose for existence was a laser focus on destroying Israel, in the process terrorizing an entire population of Israelis never knowing when or where the next strike would come from, this man himself, steeped deep in his vision of 'liberation' and conquest became very familiar with the dread he had inspired in his potential victims. For a year since he dispatched those thousands of terrorists eager to do credit to Yahya Sinwar's shock and awe demonstration of Palestinian inhumanity, the architect of the October 7 slaughter became a desperate fugitive.

Sinwar, after 23 years in an Israeli prison for terrorism as a member of the Israel-destroying Hamas breakaway group from the Muslim Brotherhood, believed he knew the ethos and dearest-held emotional attachments of Jews; care and solicitation for the welfare of fellow Jews. And he meant to exploit that to its full potential. After all, hadn't he benefited from that Jewish reaction himself, when  in exchange for the return of one lone abducted Israeli soldier, over a thousand Palestinian prisoners were traded, himself included, and enabled to carry on with their pet project of threat, destabilization, violence and mayhem against Israel.

The pinnacle therefore, of that infamous October 7 day of sadistic savagery was to round up Israeli children, the elderly and infirm, women and soldiers to be held for their guaranteed ransom potential in freeing up more Palestinians who languish in Israeli prisons after having been arrested and placed on trial, found guilty of the crimes of threatening, attacking and murdering Jews. Maltreatment of the age-and-gender vulnerable abductees, their humiliation, punishing living arrangements, sexual predation and starvation would do nothing to diminish their value as exchange objects.

Thursday was the turning point in the Israel Defense Forces' search for the whereabouts of the October 7 mastermind. He had spent the year since the slaughter in southern Israel, deep in the bowels of Gaza, with him six Israeli hostages as living shields. When those six were too weak and emaciated, suffering from torture and privation, their usefulness was ended and they too were murdered. Israeli intelligence was certain he had moved to the tunnels of Rafah, where several Hamas divisions remained intact after the bulk of the Hamas militias elsewhere within the Gaza Strip had been neutered. On that day, he and  his bodyguards were cornered following a gunfight with Israeli troops, who called in a tank to fire a shell on a building that Sinwar had taken shelter in.

A drone had verified the presence of a terrorist in the previously bombed building. He was found later, partially buried in the rubble that had resulted from tank-fire, dead. The building's collapse had sent a wooden stake, not through the heart of that death zombie; his brain was impaled by it, a fitting end for a human monster. Tal al-Sultan in Gaza's southern Rafah city, hard by the border with Egypt, through which arms and ammunition had been smuggled into Gaza for years, was the scene of his death. When the "dead man walking" was found, he had with him, a gun, a knife, a flak jacket and 40,000 Israeli shekels.
