A new exhibit
on the Nakba, recounting the personal experiences of Canadian
Palestinians who fled or were forced from their homes in 1948, is coming
to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. However, at least one Jewish
organization is concerned it will lack historical and current
geopolitical context. CBC
What
irony, the founder of the museum, Israel Asper, visualized its purpose
to speak to the world of the horrors of the Holocaust, that it never be
forgotten as a signal event in the mid-20th century when state-driven
genocide alongside a world war contrived to dehumanize European Jewry on
their way to total annihilation. The museum has undergone a change in
purpose from highlighting real instances of monumental human rights
abuses to become a showpiece for propaganda against Israel, the Jewish
state that rose on its ancestral geography from the ashes of six million
lives -- half the world's entire Jewish population.
Canada,
through immigration, refugee intake from war-torn Middle East and North
African countries, and illegal migration, has become a cesspool of
Jew-hate. Its rise accelerated by the savagery of the 7 October, 2023
flood of Palestinian terrorists into southern Israel from Gaza on a
mission to destroy, sadistically terrorize and rape, mutilate and murder
1,200 mostly civilians, comprised of infants, children, the elderly, in
farming communities close to the Gaza border. Slaughtered also were
foreign farm workers, who were also taken hostage along with Israeli
children, their parents, young adults from a music festival and
soldiers.
Hamas,
Islamic Jihad, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Fatah and
other terrorist operatives along with Palestinian civilians took pride
in their atrocities, to the extent of documenting their acts of
inhumanity on videos they later posted to social media. Their crimes
included burning families alive, mass rapes, mutilation of girls and
women amidst the rapes, forcing children to witness their parents being
tortured and parents forced to watch their children tortured and
murdered. All atrocities that Palestinians later claimed Israelis
perpetrated on them.
Apologists
for Palestinian 'victimhood' in the international community find
reasons to overlook the barbarity, with claims that inhumane occupation
made for desperate acts of people seeking freedom. Palestinians always
had the freedom to choose their own destinies, but they mired themselves
solidly in the self-serving delusion that the land on which Israel
stood was theirs, resulting in constant murderous attacks on Jews at the
very same time they portrayed themselves as victims and Jews their
oppressors. In refusing a state alongside that of the Jews, Palestinians
held out for destroying Israel and taking all the land -- ancient
Judean patrimony.

Bringing
their lurid grievances with them to Canada, Palestinians and their
Muslim-Canadian supporters ply the fiction of victim and oppressor,
denying that the atrocities of October 7 took place, irrespective of the
much-celebrated videos depicting the horrors, and convincing a wide
audience across the world of their 'cause'; being refused a Palestinian
state of their own after turning down one Israeli negotiated proposal
after another for a state in exchange for recognition of Israel's
sovereign presence.
That
the Canadian Museum for Human Rights has become yet another Canadian
institution that supports the 'rights' of Palestinians to what they
claim is theirs, and mourning the existence of the state of Israel as an
instrument of Palestinian oppression, now engaged in 'genocide' after
depriving Palestinians of their state, is yet another milestone for the
public relations machinery that grinds away at the legitimacy of the
Jewish state, along with that of Canadian Jews, monstrously slandered
and threatened and isolated in the very country they have lived in for
centuries.
The
world is willing to acknowledge the 750,000 Palestinians who fled with
the re-establishment of Israel in 1948, yet is totally disinterested in
the 850,000 Arabized Jews who lived for a millennia and more in Muslim
countries in the Middle East and North Africa who were exiled, their
properties and goods taken from them in 1948. The Jews were never
considered refugees, were never compensated, never given assistance from
the United Nations. The Arab Palestinians, on the other hand, were
given the eternal status of refugees, fully financially and politically
supported by the United Nations.
Isha Khan, CEO of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, said the

academic and curatorial rigour as all exhibits. (CBC)

If
the nature of Hamas as a dedicated death-cult led to a preordained
barbaric assault against Israeli citizens on October 7, 2023 for which
Israel was unprepared, and the targets of the murderous rampage might
never have imagined that such savagery would be launched against them,
since those that lived in the kibbutzim and farming communities
regularly employed their Gaza neighbours as farm labourers and were in
total sympathy with their plight under Hamas, it follows that the
government of Israel was preordained to respond with a full, all-out
invasion and corresponding assaults on the Hamas terrorists.
The
leaders of Hamas had long planned the details of the impending
incursion into southern Israel. On the surface it appeared that their
cult mission to destroy the Jewish state had abated with the weight of
government in Gaza shifting to civic infrastructure, when the extent of
the underground maze of tunnels under the Strip had not yet been fully
realized by Israeli intelligence and its military. Only to discover
their numbers and sophistication with the understanding that Israeli
children, women and men were incarcerated there as hostages, abducted
from their homes on October 7.
Hamas
command posts and weapons depots established in Gaza hospitals, rocket
launchers placed in the midst of crowded civilian enclaves, and Hamas
operatives along with those of Islamic Jihad doffing uniforms to meld
into the civilian population, leaving little option for the Israel
Defense Forces but to bomb identified terrorist posts, buildings used as
headquarters, communications, and planning centers with associated and
unpreventable civilian Palestinian harms.
People wrapped in US and Israeli flags stand around a portrait of US President
Donald Trump as they wait for the release of hostages from Gaza at
Hostage Square in Tel Aviv early on October 13, 2025.
All
of which fell as planned by Hamas; documenting the rising death toll
among Palestinians as fodder for their public relations machinery geared
to Western news media, gullible populations and governments, while
destabilizing the Middle East and preventing Sunni Muslim governments
from the momentum gained by Bahrain, the UAE and Morocco, continuing to
swell the ranks of those making peace with Israel through the Abraham
Accords. Hamas called upon its sister terror groups in Iraq, Yemen and
Lebanon as well as their mentor-state Iran to swell their own
Israel-demolishing ranks.
So,
now, the world celebrates a ceasefire, hoping for a lasting peace
between Israel and its Middle East neighbours and for the immediate
moment, a cessation of military hostilities between Israel and Gaza.
Despite the serious losses sustained by Hamas in the two years since
the horrors of October 7's mass murder of innocent lives in Israel, the
terrorists continued their rocket fire, joined by Hezbollah and Yemen's
Houthis. Hamas glories in its supposed fighting prowess, lusts after
Jewish blood, takes pride in its death mission.

There
will never be peace in the Middle East while Hamas persists. And while
Israel and Jews everywhere are joyful and relieved at the return of the
still-living hostages, awaiting the full return of those who died in
captivity along with the dead taken from Israel to Gaza, expectations
that the ceasefire plan's points of Hamas surrendering its weapons, and
leaving Gaza are not remotely credible. Much less the ease with which
deradicalization of Palestinians from both Gaza and the West Bank under
the PA can be accomplished.
Palestinian
culture is based on clan loyalties, and while Hamas still reigns in
Gaza however temporarily, an orgy of revenge-killings is on overdrive.
Prominent Palestinian clans that ordinarily prey on each other and on
the wider Palestinian populations who rival Hamas in its dominant role,
are engaged in wholesale armed conflict with Hamas, even as Hamas hunts
down those Palestinians it claims to be disloyal to their cause.
Bloodshed is the order of the day. Public executions of Palestinians by
Hamas as traitors become events enjoyed by other Palestinians assembled
to witness the cold-blooded murder of fellow citizens.
How
likely is it that this culture is prepared to become entirely civilized
and accepting finally of a Jewish state, one they have violently
opposed for 70 years and more? In a realm where Israel's population is
accepting of over a million Palestinians as citizens, and where, should
an Israeli Jew venture into Palestinian territory, it would mean instant
death. How possible is it to wean millions of people taught from the
cradle to infancy, teen years to adulthood to despise Jews and consider
martyrdom in the act of murdering Jews to represent the highest point to
which anyone could aspire?
Return The Hostages, Live and Dead, Or Face The Consequences
"Gaza residents, this is a final warning. The first Sinwar ruined Gaza
and the second Sinwar will completely obliterate it [referring to the slain leader of Hamas, Yahya
Sinwar, and to his brother, Mohammed Sinwar, a senior Hamas military
commander who is thought to have succeeded him]."
"The Air Force strikes against Hamas terrorists were just the first
step. Things will become much more difficult, and you will pay the full
price."
"[If the hostages are not released and Hamas is not removed from Gaza], Israel will operate with strength you have not yet seen."
"Take the U.S. president’s advice. Return the hostages and remove
Hamas, and other options will open up for you, including leaving for
other places in the world for those who desire."

Since the Israel Defence Forces were given orders to restart operations in Gaza, several senior Hamas commanders were killed, both military and government officials. Yasser Muhammad Harb Musa, responsible for security affairs in the Hamas political bureau who promoted and directed terrorist actions against Israel, among them, along with Muhammad Al-Jarnasi, head of the Hamas Emergency Committee.
"As part of his role, Musa handled the advancement and guidance of
terror attacks against the State of Israel", advised the IDF and Shin Bet,
adding he was considered to have been a confidant to slain Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. Mohammed Jamasi, whose role was also described: "Over the years, Jamasi held key positions in the political bureau
and the leadership of the movement and as part of his role in the war,
he coordinated a significant portion of the Hamas regime’s government
activity in the Gaza Strip, including the guidance of terror attacks
against the State of Israel."
The two were among a list of several senior Hamas leaders killed since the
renewed offensive, including Hamas’s de facto prime minister of the
Strip. The launching of the 'limited ground operation' in northern Gaza Wednesday's statement to retake part of a corridor bisecting the territory was an announcement found wanting in the usual European capitals and spoke of a needless escalatory move that had the potential of rekindling a larger regional conflict.
Israel, always sensitive to criticism from its fellow democracies in Europe, felt that this time it had an obligation to itself to suspend the ceasefire whose purpose was a prisoner-for-hostage exchange that Hamas made a mockery of.
Part of the Netzarim corridor bisecting northern Gaza from the south, from which the IDF had withdrawn as part of the January-initiated ceasefire with Hamas, has now been retaken. Hamas has received due warning once more that Israel's attacks against it would become fiercer should dozens of remaining hostages held for over 17 months in Gaza not be freed. Hamas appears to have been completely disinterested.
The intention is that the Israeli military ground operation in Gaza would create a "partial buffer between northern and southern Gaza". The six-kilometre Netzarim Corridor was previously used by Israel as a military zone during the conflict, running from the Israeli border to the coast, south of Gaza City, severing the largest metropolitan area and the rest of the north from the south in the territory. Israeli defence minister Katz announced that the military was preparing to order Palestinians in Gaza to evacuate from combat zones.
"The IDF calls on media outlets to act with caution regarding unverified reports", the military announced after reports circulated that the IDF had struck a United Nations compound located in the central Gaza Strip's Deir al-Balah area. Military spokesperson Lt.Col. Nadav Shoshani explained that the explosion could not have been caused by Israeli fire. "There were no forces around that building, no aerial attacks on that area", he said.
The Gaza Health Ministry operated by the Hamas terrorists had claimed earlier on Wednesday that an Israeli Air Force strike had killed a UN employee, wounding five others. As in the past such claims have been disproved as the usual terrorist ploys to point Israel out as the source of such targeting, when so often the real culprits have been the terrorists themselves catapulting their rockets, going short and falling on their own territory with resultant casualties.
The IDF pointed out as it has done on a multitude of occasions that it strikes only Hamas operatives, blaming civilian deaths on Hamas since it operates within densely populated areas in a deliberate scheme to have Israel appear responsible for civilian casualties that Hamas itself relies upon for its propaganda efforts to convince the West that Israel is carrying out a 'genocide' of Palestinians. Gaza's Health Ministry records deliberately fail to distinguish civilians from combatants.
The Israeli military, explained Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahyu, went into action when Hamas rebuffed several proposals from U.S. Middle East envoy Steven Witkoff to extend the ceasefire in the enclave during the Ramada and Passover holidays. "Israel will, from now on, act against Hamas with increasing military strength." The goal of the military campaign in Gaza remains to achieve "the objectives of the war as they have been determined by the political echelon, including the release of all of our hostages, the living and the deceased", read a statement from the Prime Minister's office.

War
is an unkind enemy of humanity. In Gaza, Palestinians suffer the impact
of a war that the governing Hamas terrorists provoked. The savagery of
the invasion of southern Israel by thousands of terrorists linked to the
Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Popular Front for the Liberation of
Palestine, lead by Hamas operatives was an exercise in unspeakable
sadistic atrocities in the mass rape of girls and women, the anguish
they suffered through torture, the massacre of children, parents, the
elderly, and the abduction of infants, ailing men and women, held in
Gaza to be used as trade pawns for Palestinian terrorists held in
Israeli prisons.
Proof
exists that civilian Palestinians followed the terrorists in their
invasion to prey on civilians living in kibbutzim that had employed
Palestinians from Gaza in farm labour. Trusted Palestinians who broke
bread with their Israeli employers, and who in turn revealed to Hamas
commanders planning the invasion, valuable details of the farming
villages and their security protocols. Israeli hostages were held not
only by Hamas terrorists, but by Palestinian civilians as well;
mistreatment of the hostages was universal; humiliation, rape,
deprivation of fresh air, of food and water.
Israeli
children, women and men who were forced to live in tunnels, deprived of
sunlight, of hygiene, of medicine for chronic health conditions, whom
even the International Red Cross made no effort to make contact with.
The threatened, abused and starved Israeli hostages served a purpose
that the terrorists exploited; held in part by civilians working with
Hamas, a significant number perished. Despite the Israel Defense Forces
search for members of Hamas with the firm intention of permanently
destroying the group's capacity to ever again prey on Israelis and Jews,
missiles continue to rain down from Gaza to Israel.

How
likely is it that any nation whose military is on the offensive would
constrain their military targeting to protect civilians as Israel does?
The civilian casualty rate in Gaza has been steep, as it has been in any
conflict anywhere in the world. Hamas commanding elites made it clear
in public fora that they have no intention of relenting in their goal of
destroying Israel and murdering Jews; pledging to repeat the October 7,
2023 butchery over and over again until no Jews would be left.
Gazans
are now and have been for a year, living with major life
inconveniences. Apart from the need to constantly move from one area in
the Gaza Strip to another in advance of IDF planned attacks on Hamas
infrastructure, their impermanence has necessitated that they live rough
amongst destroyed and crumbling infrastructure in many areas. There is
a lack of potable running water, and no electricity. The lethal designs
of Hamas created complete destruction, insecurity and the potential for
death in the Gaza population, given the terrorist group's propensity to
situate themselves and their weaponry in the midst of heavily populated
areas.
Israel launched retaliatory strikes on Gaza after the attacks by Hamas Reuters
"Every night is a struggle for us",
36-year-old Abu Amra says, living in Deir al Balah, central Gaza where
she now cooks over a fire and laundry is done by hand. Israel, pre-Oct 7
attack supplied Gaza with electricity. In the immediate aftermath of
the atrocities, the electricity to Gaza via Israel was shut down. The
Palestinian population of Gaza which, in the vast majority favours Hamas
rule and approves of the attack, whose result is the reason they now
suffer may or may not now regret that choice. More likely they credit
Israel alone with their suffering.
The
electricity infrastructure of Gaza suffered over the years as a result
of previous conflicts that Hamas had been responsible for initiating.
The funding that Hamas has received from humanitarian groups, the
European Union, the United Nations and Western democracies in general
has not gone into upgrading the civil infrastructure of the Strip, much
less its electricity and water grids. It was used instead to create the
massive, sometimes-sophisticated tunnel system that runs under the
territory.
And
while there are many civilians in Gaza for whom life has become a
misery of scarcity of everything one depends upon in life in the modern
era, there are those among them who view the current situation as a
splendid opportunity to become wealthy over those scarcities and the
misery of their fellow citizens. Like 23-year-old Mohammed Samra who
bought solar panels for a new family business in central Gaza where he
charges one shekel to charge a cellphone.

Cities
in Canada saw wild scenes of open celebration even before news emerged
of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Islamic Republican Guards Corp having
launched a prolonged direct air attack on Israel. There is little doubt
that many Iranians living in Tehran and detesting their ruling
Ayatollahs viewed this event with sorrow. In Canada, the majority of the
Iranian diaspora who arrived post-Iranian Revolution were anything but
pleased. Which didn't stop the abundant presence of Palestinians,
Syrians and other Middle East diaspora-Canadian-Arabs from jubilantly
celebrating the event.
Keffiyeh-wearing
demonstrators were seen in one circulated video cheering, banging
drums, and sending up celebratory smoke bombs, while a speaker declared
the wonderful news that "the Islamic Republic of Iran has just sent tens of drones toward Israel"; a 44-second video posted by Caryma Sa'd, Toronto lawyer who often documents such events taking place in Toronto. "Protesters
react to breaking news of Iran launching drones at Israel in
retaliatory attack for a strike which killed a top Iranian commander", he captioned.
This
was April 14 when the IRGC air division launched over 300 drones and
ballistic missiles into Israeli airspace. Israel and its regional and
international supporters were prepared; forewarned of an imminent
attack, they had their warjets on standby and reacted according to plan,
knowing it would take up to seven hours for any of the missiles and
'suicide' drones to reach Israel. Israel, the United States, Britain,
Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates all had a hand in
ensuring that none of the deadly projectiles reached their intended
goal.
One
can only imagine the dejection and disappointment of the celebrants of
Iran's attack must have felt when it was announced by the Israel Defense
Forces than the upshot of the Saturday/Sunday declaration of war turned
out that 99 percent of the weapons were shot down. A 7-year-old Bedouin
child in Israel was the sole unfortunate casualty when detritus from a
destroyed missile fell on her family home, as was a lightly-impacted
northern-Israel air base, which continued operations afterward.

The
Canadian celebrabrants were not to be put off by reality, continuing
into Sunday. On the Instagram account of Ottawa4Palestine a speaker in
Ottawa sang an improvised ditty to the tune of Yankee Doodle with the
phrase: "leave Palestine alone and Jews go back to Europe". Another video of a Montreal rally featured demonstrators changing "put the bullet in the house of fire ... we are your men, Sinwar", referring to Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, a chief architect of October 7's bloodthirsty savagery in southern Israel.
An
Iranian exile in Calgary -- Bahar Bahari, long a vocal critic of Iran's
theocracy, and a frequent attendee at pro-Israel demonstrations had
posted the Montreal video. The Jerusalem Post took note of the celebrations in Canada, publishing the headline "Toronto protesters cheer as Iran fires drones at Israel", even while Israeli counter-batteries just completed the last of the incoming missiles being shot down.
The
burgeoning anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian movement has been defiantly
open with their hate messages against Israel, their threats against
Canadian Jews, and their masked presence, disrupting traffic, blocking
bridges, issuing insults against Canadian police forces, harassing
Jewish business owners and Synagogue congregants, although their actions
and activities defy Canadian hate law. Issues of violence perpetrated
on Jewish parochial schools, Jewish social centres and Synagogues remain
unsolved.
Key
organizers of the hate-fests against the Jewish state are well known
for their activities, bordering on and often substantially illegal
criminal acts; Toronto4Palestine, Samidoun and the Palestinian Youth
Movement who organized joyful rallies within hours of the ghastly
October 7 mass rapes and massacres. Houthi attacks on commercial
shipping in the Red Sea have also been matters of organized celebrations
thanks to these organizers, all of whom if the Liberal government of
Justin Trudeau was the least bit interested in security and following
their own laws against terrorism would join Canada's list of terror
groups.

the alleged connection to possible terrorist activity against Jewish
people. CBCNews
On the past weekend police arrested an Ottawa youth on two terrorism-related charges targeting the Jewish community in the city. Three additional charges have now been laid in addition to the original two. Because the suspected terrorist is not of age, his identification has been withheld, as a minor. His first courthouse appearance was virtually attended four days later.
From the original two charges, he now faces a total of five charges, inclusive of a second charge linked to facilitating a terrorist activity and two new charges relating to explosives. The first, relates to possession of explosives, the second is for possessing them with intent to either "endanger life or to cause serious damage to property" or to enable another person do so so. Whether anyone else is being investigated in the case has not yet been revealed.
Patrols of Jewish institutions, including synagogues, community centres and schools have been increased by the Ottawa Police Service, even while the Jewish Federation of Ottawa divulged that police continue to encourage the community to be vigilant. To that end, the Federation reported in a message to community members that police confirmed there to be no risk to the community now since the teen remains in custody.
"We ask that everyone exercise heightened awareness and [be] diligent in following security protocols", urged the Federation's communication. When the RCMP Saturday announced the arrest for terrorism-related offences, it also gave warning of a "concerning trend" of online violent extremism and terrorism in Canada.
The youth's father spoke to Global News explaining that he had warned his son to avoid extremists. As a precautionary measure he had sent his son for a consultation with an imam. Since some area imams are well known to themselves be vectors of extremism, and the father has a Facebook page where he posts derogatory posts about Jews and Zionists in Arabic, one that called to dispose of all Israelis, one might conjecture that the apple didn't fall far from the tree that bore it.
The RCMP gave credit to the Canadian Security Intelligence Service and the Integrated Terrorism Assessment Centre, as well as provincial and municipal police, all having provided "indispensable collaboration" in the case. Across Canada both Jewish and Muslim leaders report an increase in attacks motivated by hate since the Hamas atrocities on October 7 in Israel, followed by Israel's military response in Gaza.
However, while the Muslim community cries "Islamophobia" and speaks of hate crimes against its community, it is the Jewish community against which the vast bulk of the crimes are committed. And by and large, it is from within the ranks of the Muslim community that harassment, threats and violence emanates against the Jewish community.

How
strange it is that reputable, 'legacy' news outlets such as the wire
services that so many print papers take their stories from reporting on
the ground in Gaza base their versions of events primarily on statements
produced by Hamas officials who, representing the interests of the
terrorist group are known for their extraordinary facility in evading
the truth and embellishing falsehoods for public digestion. And the
public does digest the Hamas version of a reality that exists in the
world in their heads as is evidenced by protesters gathering in huge
numbers in cities worldwide to express their rage with Israel defending
itself against the vile, lethal sadism of Hamas savagery.
The Israeli military screened footage taken from bodycams worn by Hamas, CCTV, dashboard cameras and mobile phones
Yet
it is Hamas that is defended in these protests that label themselves
'pro-Palestinian'. Where congratulatory huzzahs ring out for 'the
resistance', and candies are handed out in celebration of the great
victory in torturing, mutilating, raping, beheading, children, women,
teens, the elderly. Where entire families taking shelter in their 'safe
rooms' in villages and towns at the Gaza border in Israel, die a
gruesome death when their homes are set afire, or grenades are tossed
into their homes.
The
courage it takes to defy the basic tenets of human rights by depriving
people of their lives, of terrorizing helpless people by the sadistic
actions of heavily armed Hamas operatives rounding up the vulnerable,
from infants to grandparents, the infirm, girls and women, and of course
a handful of soldiers to be hauled back to Gaza as hostages. Truly a
command performance. One that has commanded the attention of
'pro-Palestinian' admirers. Who, before the IDF had the opportunity to
respond on that fateful October 7 day, brought out gangs of people
protesting Israel's 'disproportionate' response.
"Fighting
between Israeli forces and Hamas militants escalated near and around
Gaza City's besieged and overcrowded hospitals, which Palestinian
officials said were hit by explosions and gunfire", a Reuters
recently published report read. Quoting 'Palestinian officials' aka
Hamas operatives who prefer being referred to as 'militants' rather than
terrorists and legacy media is pleased to comply. Had they done their
due diligence they would have known that no IDF explosions and gunfire
occurred at those hospitals other than in response to Hamas's
initiatives.
Hamas video provided by Israel Defense Force
This
is a war, caused not by Israel, but by a terrorist group whose purpose
of existence, according to its charter, is the full destruction of the
Jewish state, and its people. Reuters went on to quote the Shifa Hospital director, claiming Israel was "launching a war on Gaza City hospitals", accusing Israel of targeting a school [despite that schools have been closed], then discussing "missiles" that "landed in the courtyard of Al Shifa"; the result of yet another rocket directed at Israeli forces misfiring.
Then, there's Associated Press
reports picked up by the major news, noting Israel's contention that
Hamas operates a subterranean base located directly beneath the
hospital, claiming it repeated Israel's assertion "without providing evidence". When in fact, weeks before the Israel Defense Forces had presented "concrete evidence"
to journalists that included intercepted communications and admissions
by a number of enemy combatants that Hamas built a network of tunnels
beneath the hospital where hundreds of terrorists "flooded into the hospital" following their massacre of Israeli civilians on October 7.

Hamas
exploits the hospital's generators to power its underground bunker,
using energy that could be maintained for babies in incubators, along
with other medical equipment no longer usable with no source of
electricity. Hamas terrorists are seen on video firing from inside
Sheikh Hamad Hospital, at Israeli forces. An invitation to the IDF to
fire back; 'evidence' of Israel's 'atrocities', in attacking Gaza's
hospitals. The videos of the IDF uncovering a tunnel entrance from
Sheikh Hamad Hospital and a command-and-control centre where a large
weapons cache was hidden below a children's hospital are now in the
public realm.
Reputable
international media outlets and anti-Israel protesters will not give
credence to the overwhelming evidence of Hamas's ongoing war crimes,
even as the organization makes little effort to screen its use of
civilians as human shields. An open letter published last week signed by
over 1,200 reporters, editors, photographers, producers and other
workers in newsrooms around the world, laments the death of 36
journalists during the course of the war, accusing Israel of "lethally targeting journalists" while hailing the "brave efforts" of "our colleagues in Gaza".
Nothing seems to stop a bigoted media of using inflammatory and false terms like "apartheid", "ethnic cleansing", and "genocide"
in connection with Israel, while accusing Israel of committing war
crimes. No evidence required in that case. Evidently murdering children
and babies, sodomizing girls and young women and taking hundreds of
civilian hostages is justified, as long as the victims are Jews.

"The
human tragedy that is unfolding in Gaza is heart-wrenching, especially
the suffering we see in and around the Al Shifa Hospital."
"I
have been clear that the price of justice cannot be the continued
suffering of all Palestinian civilians. Even wars have rules."
"[Hamas needs to stop using Palestinians as human shields and release all hostages] immediately and unconditionally."
"[The
violence urgently needs to stop] so that Palestinians can get access to
life-saving medical services, food, fuel and water, so that all
hostages can be released, so that all Canadians and other nationals can
leave Gaza."
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau
"@Justin
Trudeau...It is not Israel that is deliberately targeting civilians but
Hamas that beheaded, burned and massacred civilians in the worst
horrors perpetrated on Jews since the Holocaust."
"While
Israel ls doing everything to keep civilians out of harm's way, Hamas
is doing everything to keep them in harm's way. Israel provides
civilians in Gaza humanitarian corridors and safe zones, Hamas prevents
them from leaving at gunpoint."
"It
is Hamas not Israel that should be held accountable for committing a
double war crime -- targeting civilians while hiding behind civilians."

The
problem here is that it is the Israeli prime minister who is facing a
dilemma; wholly invested in ensuring that Hamas will never again be
capable of slaughtering Israelis because they are Jews, while at the
same time Israeli forces are responding to the terrorist atrocities
committed by Hamas in southern Israel, aggressively searching out the
terrorist Hamas operatives in their densest most civilian-occupied
areas, primarily Gaza City, while care is observed to keep civilian
casualties to a minimum.
Even
while the Israel Defense Forces have been dispatched to Gaza to rout
out the terrorists, Hamas and Islamic Jihad have never stopped
bombarding Israel with rockets, aimed at Israel's civilian population.
When Israel warned Gazans to move south in the event of the IDF entering
the northern regions of the Strip, Hamas ordered its civilians to
remain where they were -- to be defiant -- but the agenda really was to
continue their role as sacrificial martyrs to the Hamas death-cult
imposed on Israel.
Netanyahu's
rebuke of a democratic colleague who has never faced such a dilemma
offering suggestions that appear to equate the legitimacy of a military
fully involved in securing the safety of civilians while engaged in an
existential battle for security for its population -- with the actions
of a terrorist group that precipitated the war. Trudeau has shown
himself time and again prepared to assume the worst of Israel, taking
the word of Hamas, an organization listed on Canada's own terrorist
list, over that of the Israeli authorities.
In
repeating the Hamas mantra of Israel committing genocide by killing
women, children and babies, Trudeau has selected terrorist propaganda
over the concerns of a Western liberal democracy doing all it can under
the circumstances to ensure that women, children and babies are as safe
from harm as can be possible in a war situation where they are abused as
human shields. Israel has carefully and selectively entered parts of
Gaza's hospitals in its search for Hamas operatives in the knowledge
that the terrorists use hospitals as covers.
Hamas
command centres are set up in and under hospitals, a reality that both
Hamas and the medical staff at Shifa Hospital deny. Urging "maximum
restraint" upon Israel expresses a total lack of understanding of the
situation and the care taken to exercise just that. War was mounted in
the wake of a vicious surprise attack by Hamas terrorists on Israeli
communities bordering on Gaza, where an estimated 1,200 mostly civilians
were subjected to mutilation and murder; women raped, children killed
in their homes alongside their parents.
Trudeau's
foreign affairs minister, Melanie Joly, terming the situation
unacceptable, mimicked the concerns of her political governing leader: "Civilians
must be protected and enough food, fuel and water must get into Gaza so
that [the UN's] life-saving work can continue"; an
obvious concern to Israel, grappling with the humanitarian crisis that
it did not create of its singular volition. And while Trudeau stopped
short of calling for a 'ceasefire', his foreign deputy went considerably
further.
It
was her considered recommendation that Israel sit down with Hamas and
Qatar to discuss a cessation of 'hostilities', a return of the hostages
and everyone will be reconciled. In the face of the atrocities committed
by Hamas, in the reality of Qatar harbouring Hamas leaders, and funding
its operations, precisely who is it that this woman is recommending
that Israel trust and bargain with?
